Pennington, Dale, Lyons and Apter can not get in our team. If I was a fan of another club I would be quite happy to see them sign.
If we signed a player who couldn't get in Oxford's team our fans would be kicking off about a lack of ambition.

Yeah he's OK. One of very few players who actually pushed for a move here because he wanted to play in the championship at the time.Still think there’s a decent player in there especially if he’s played on the wing, but am ok with him going and probably think this move is for him to play in a system where he’s a winger.
Played in his natural position he will have more good games than off days.I think most of the time we plac best in a 4-2-3-1 - so I expect him to play left or right of that 3, with presumably Greg Leigh beyond him on the left - so maybe he'll be better suited in our system, given what you lads have been saying. With our injury hit squad, I have every expectation he will start against you lot in 10 days time too...
Stop telling Surly off...If players want to go then ok
But why am I the only one thinks this is a bad idea to sell to a team also pushing for the playoffs
Surly you don’t sell to your rivals
Hope pool have a deal where he dosnt start against us
NoDo you prefer Oakley Booth ?
Hes not a natural winger as hes not fast enough. Or tricky enough. And his final ball is often lacking, or over hit. Can be good on his day, but if competing with Joseph he has no chance. He certainly would be in with a shout as a natural winger. Would have him competing with Joseph in the forward left position.
My issue is , to a team who can pip you to a playoff place , who says Dale scores that vital goal to help OxfordIt's funny isn't it that with some fans, players suddenly become miles better when we are selling them. Truth is Dale is average and has a few good games but if we weren't selling him he wouldn't be getting in our first 11 anyway so get some dosh in the bank.
I don't think anyone is going to be building a shrine to Owen Dale tbf. It's going to be more about if anyone comes in and if they're an upgrade. Or if this month is just a cost cutting exercise. It's funny isn't it that with some fans, players suddenly become miles better when we are selling them. And if we don't sell him, who says some other player won't score two. Football is too complex and there are too many variables in the season's outcome to say that the sale of one player is the defining factor. My issue is , to a team who can pip you to a playoff place , who says Dale scores that vital goal to help Oxford
Big risk to take if your ambition is to go up , it looks more financial than a footballing decision to me thenAnd if we don't sell him, who says some other player won't score two. I'd be interested to hear how much. Rumour-mill suggests it's a 'bargain' - makes sense with 6 months left, but I wonder what that is? £50-100k?Big risk to take if your ambition is to go up , it looks more financial than a footballing decision to me then
ido get your point , but if my ambition is to get back up , then I wouldn’t sell to a rival to make then stronger , yes ok sell to Fleetwood lol
but if it’s a financial decision , then yes you sell as you might not get that price again
Your last sentence is probably the one nearest the mark.I don't think anyone is going to be building a shrine to Owen Dale tbf. It's going to be more about if anyone comes in and if they're an upgrade. Or if this month is just a cost cutting exercise.
Dale, Gabriel and Lyons all getting a raw deal from the club.Another victim of the shit formation. Gabriel and Lyons next.
Your last sentence is probably the one nearest the mark.
i think it’s cost cutting , like Simon said in September to us fansI don't think anyone is going to be building a shrine to Owen Dale tbf. It's going to be more about if anyone comes in and if they're an upgrade. Or if this month is just a cost cutting exercise.
Yes, we’re skint - hence the players going and the bargain bucket signing.i think it’s cost cutting , like Simon said in September to us fans
if we go up , then good , if not then we go again , running the club is more important
stablity
Why wouldn't you get c75k for a player who isn't a regular starter, now when in 5 months he can go for free.....unless it's not your money....Your last sentence is probably the one nearest the mark.
Joseph is obviously better but he won't play 90 minutes of every game. Who in the squad will be filling that gap now, Connolly?!!!!!!!Hes not a natural winger as hes not fast enough. Or tricky enough. And his final ball is often lacking, or over hit. Can be good on his day, but if competing with Joseph he has no chance.
We paid, a reported , £250,000 for him. He spent last season on loan and hasn’t made many starts this season. He was injured when he arrived and has now gone for probably far less than we paid. If thats cost cutting I’m bloody glad its not my money. Why wouldn't you get c75k for a player who isn't a regular starter, now when in 5 months he can go for free.....unless it's not your money....
Hardly cost cutting, more likely fund raising...
If we were skint we’d be selling players from our first 11 not Dale, Tharme and Oakley-Boothe. The only exception to that is Dougall who clearly wanted awayYes, we’re skint - hence the players going and the bargain bucket signing.
Where has Oakley Booth gone?If we were skint we’d be selling players from our first 11 not Dale, Tharme and Oakley-Boothe. The only exception to that is Dougall who clearly wanted away
Contract terminated this eveningWhere has Oakley Booth gone?
Must have missed that.
There are very few players in this squad of I think is quite a talented squad, that critch is getting the best out of.For me, he's one of those annoying players, who you know possesses alot of ability, but doesn't show it with any sort of consistency. Maybe the Oxford system might suit him more, I don't know, but he doesn't really fit here with the way Critchley wants to play. He was on loan at Pompey last season, and I think their fans were divided about him as well. Good luck to him but not against us obviously.
Really? He looked way out of his depth when he played against us, guess he didn't ever pick up?Contract terminated this evening
You can’t speak ill of Critchley, thats tantamount to sacrilege. Didn’t you know his return is on a par with the second coming. There are very few players in this squad of I think is quite a talented squad, that critch is getting the best out of.
Daie showing promise as a wing back, getting into decent form scores a few goals and a few assists- dropped
Carey getting into some form - dropped
Marv similar, Kenny similar, dembele seems to have had his feathers cut a bit, Lyons can hardly get a look in, weird selections in the back three, with Connolly favoured over Marv and Casey and Pennington.
Isn't the second coming supposed to herald the end of the world. You can’t speak ill of Critchley, thats tantamount to sacrilege. Didn’t you know his return is on a par with the second coming.
With what’s going on in the world today, thats a possibility.Isn't the second coming supposed to herald the end of the world.
Not recently.Pennington has been injured
Just get a bit of Tippex or white emulsion and change the D to a B.Well that was a wasted Christmas present.View attachment 18183
Put a Y on the end, could be a diving fan.Just get a bit of Tippex or white emulsion and change the D to a B.
That’ll get the rest of league one in a panic
Nope, he never picked up for us. Had a few games in the pizza cup where he didn't shine. Best for all involved that he's gone.Really? He looked way out of his depth when he played against us, guess he didn't ever pick up?
Don't let Mick Fleetwood, or Stevie Nicks, hear you call them a pop combo. Scary dudes.I think he's in that popular pop combo Fleetwood Mac who have had many songs in the hit parade.
Or change the D to K and sell it to someone at Forest Green RoversJust get a bit of Tippex or white emulsion and change the D to a B.
