Owen Dale

Good question, I don't get it either.

Don't understand why he persists with Connolly.

Don't know why he doesn't have a plan B to cope with teams that park the bus and play hoof ball.

To be completely fair, I believe Critchley has been trying to spread the games among the squad in order to minimise the strain from the many games over December. I don't agree with the way he's done it but still...

problem with Dale is he's another that has no consistency. He's started enough games where he has done very little. Yep, start him on monday, he deserves to after that cameo but will he have the same effect. Last night was the usual problem, sort of dominating possession but we can't get the first goal, Just like at Burton, they get it and then they've something to defend. We've got to start playing the ball around much quicker. hat's the key to opening teams up and getting that fisrt goal.

I thought Thompson did ok too, but Dale I thought was doing well in early season and last two away game debacles he had a real positive impact attack wise off the bench. Not the same mostly anonymous player we had before his loan IMO, just a pity he can't add a few goals to his game.

Obviously wingback not his best position but I'd still be picking him on Monday.

Thompson for me too. And Critchley takes him off..
I've said this before Thompson looks the part then does something stupid and we concede a goal. He did it again last night, attempted a first time pass/cross to lose possession and we're 1-0 down. He needs to go out on loan to rebuild his career because he's only going to be bit part player here. Left back/ left wing back has been a problem position for sometime.

Thompson is woeful. Played a couple of balls into the Box is the minimum you'd expect. Dale looked much better and actually took his man on.

On the other side, that 16 year old lad embarrassed CJ. Had him in his pocket all evening

Can't disagree although I did think virtue did play well.. he certainly tries to attack when he gets it.

Moore also did well and linked up well with dale.
Agree with all of the above. Wonder if Dale wishes he could've stayed at Pompey and if he had would he have got many games?

Because he was randomly for no reason after Portsmouth and replaced with Lyons?
That means nothing. He might get dropped but he might not.......its just a typical negative response from a negative person who, if we signed Harry Kane and Declan Rice he'd complain it wasnt good enough.

I mean, he wasn't. Played the next 2 games, and then Lyons came in for Carlisle. Could be any number of reasons he ended up back on the bench.
Yeah, like I said, he was dropped for next to no reason. Played well. Yet CJ who was terrible for 4/5 games in a row was kept on the pitch.

How do you know he was dropped. He might have had a niggle, he might have asked to be rested, the medical team might have looked at his stats and told NC he needed to be rested it could even have been squad rotation...

It could be any number of reasons why he didn't start........doesn't mean he was dropped, bombed out or even sent to train with the kids.

He was dropped. He was on the bench. If he had a niggle, he shouldn't be on the bench.

I don't get why you're even questioning it, he was dropped after some great results and solid performances.
