Oyston in court again

After that stint in prison and everything he's done in life am amazed that next year he'll be 90.

I wondered if it might help with the eviction process? You would hope so. Best check the eaves for Morticia though.....šŸ¦‡

I hope so too, but I think it's Heidi who still resides there. She turned up towards the end of the hearing to speak with their legals.

Is old Catweazle placing the liability on Heidi then? That would be about his level the old scroat.

No - on the current owners - as the previous owners agreed that all bills and costs would be met by whoever owned it.

Apparently.

The mind boggles šŸ¤£

Simon will be delighted šŸ¤£
Let's hope he shows him the error of hs ways. Surely the bill in cases such as these would always be the liability of the tenant?

Not sure what your point is TT. The case was adjourned on a technicality and as usual Owen 'wily old fox' Oyston survives for another hearing.

I thought it was much longer than that
I seem to remember a lease being signed just before the court took the club from under their smelly feet. Summat telling me it was 5 years though in the back of my mind
Would be fab if anybody on here could go back somewhere to check maybe tangerine knights or someone from BST

It must be longer because the club are still actively trying to get him out, wouldn't bother if it was due to run out soon anyway

The point is that whatever agreement is made between the owner and tenant, the person living in the property is legally liable for the council tax. So the council are correct in demanding it from Oyston. If he thinks that the owner should be paying, then that's a civil matter between the two parties.

Judge Jepson told the court it was ā€œnot his jobā€ to get involved in ā€œlandlord / tenant issues or who pays the billsā€.
ā€œMr Oyston agreed he is the tenant and bears liability,ā€ he told the court.
The judge heard that legal proceedings are under way to remove Oyston from the penthouse and the millionaire has been served notice to vacate the stadium apartment.
