Ozzy Floyd

Nope. Saw the real Floyd three times in the early 70's. Saw Oz Floyd once about 20 years back. I may as well have stayed home and played the LPs. The real Floyd weren't like that live at all.

Wish I'd seen them with Syd though.

Aren't they there to try and replicate what you hear on the record though. Surely if they just did their own thing or interpretation then people would equally say they were nothing like the real Floyd. And that is not what it is about.

Last night's performance by the Aussies was awesome... and I've seen them and several other Floyd tribute bands many times before. In total harmony and sync.
Quite poignant for me really because my first ever gig was in late 1967 and, on the very same stage as last night, Pink Floyd performed - and they were complete with Syd Barrett. Also on the bill was Jimi Hendrix!

Well Pink Floyd didn't. Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets don't replicate it exactly either. If you want exact replication, just listen to the records. And no, it's not what it's all about.

they are International tribute bands and why they sell out everywhere they go. Worldwide. Think about it, you're asking a tribute band to perform how they think the original band would perform in a live concert. That's pretty daft imo.

You lucky divil! I've got a flyer for that Hendrix Floyd gig at the Opera House. I wasn't there, although I did see Hendrix outside the Opera House that day. He was in the back of a white Merc going around the corner from Church St into Abingdon Street. I was too young to go to the gig, but two of my elder sisters went.

I'm glad you enjoy the Oz and other tribute bands. I'm not into them myself, but I do like some covers of Floyd songs. I once saw a French band do an incredible version of Astronomy Dominé - but I can't remember what they were called!

I was there and seen them 4 times now and that was the best yet absolutely outstanding! seen Pink Floyd a few times too.
