Always ended in a bottle neck coming out of Wigan and need to get away on Saturday promptish - hopefully we're 5-0 up at that stage but any advice of where to park that isn't in the retail section.

On the road coming in off the M6 there are a number of side streets just before the roundabout where you turn left for the stadium. They are about a ten minute walk from the stadium, after the game you have a quick getaway. It's about a five minute drive back to the motorway

Is this the roundabout near where the Aldi is?

Last time we played it wasn’t that bad getting out, I worked round the corner from the ground for 6 years, you’ll have a 14 min walk to side street parking so may as well queue getting out or leave 5 mins early

You’re screwed if you park in any of the car parks by the stadium (bingo or Robin park retail). You might get a spot on the industrial estate where the car showrooms are if you’re early, or park on Woodhouse lane around Farmfoods/lidl and just walk over the canal bridge (again need to be early as a lot of people think the same).

I usually park on the Red Robin Pub cark park but it does fill up quickly so early arrival is recommended

They were stopping people going over the canal bridge last year. (If you mean the footbridge)

I remember you saying about that and the heavy handed rozzers!

Depends how far down Woodhouse Lane, near Aldi/Farmfoods the road bridge is closer and also easier when leaving to go to J27 through Shevington, rather than J26. It’s still a decent walk though.
