Patino

He has his plus points, but is very slow and weak in the championship.
he hasn’t quite developed the athleticism needed for the Championship yet. It has some really good athletes in it and it’s shown when he has been 1 on 1 with them. His time will come but not yet.

My point is why do you care so much about his future. He's come here as an inexperienced player and cost us numerous points. I couldn't care less what happens to him from here.

Judging from previous loan players we have had like Dewsbury hall, longstaff, shelveye etc patino won't even play for England ladies so you can shove your fiver
Nothing like kicking a young player (he's a teenager ffs) while he's probably feeling down, eh Altyseasider?

Three goals and four assists. Played as a holding midfielder for most of the time under Appleton, which tells us how much Appleton knew , a month or so ago had the most goal influences for an under 21 player in the championship. In a side that was badly set up and lacked any sense of organisation dont think he did too badly.

If you compare Patino to Dewsbury-Hall during their respective loan spells then there is a huge difference in ability and movement. I know D-H was here when in Lg1 but he followed that up with Luton in the following season. To be honest, I wish Arsenal had recalled him in January because the last few months under Dino-Mick has probably been a nightmare for the lad. Even if not fully fit Trybull should have replaced him early in the 2nd half because we needed someone who could put his foot on the ball and give us some control of possession. Wish him well in his career and may develop physically but difficult to see him be anywhere near the Arsenal first team.

I agree and I suppose my point came across wrong as I'm sure he's a good kid but I suppose my anger is more directed at whoever has decided he is capable of playing holding midfield in the championship. He's just not quick enough but I'm not blaming him solely it's more the fact that this is just an example of the strange decisions being made all season.
So why not level your criticism at those responsible for taking those decisions? Because young Charlie certainly doesn't strike me as being the prima-donna type stomping round the dressing-room demanding that he be selected to play.

Fuck me that guy is woeful. All you guys been pining over him all season I've not seen him have more than one game decent all season.

So ** slow and clumsy on the ball. One of the worst centre mids we've had in years.

So many of you have been giving him too much time because he's on loan from arsenal but happy to slate our own players like Connolly and dougall who put a shift in. When was the last time we had a decent loan from arsenal? They are all weak as piss.
18? Was he when he arrived, Michael Owen the last 18 year old I saw who was oven ready, maybe Jude Bellingham. If you understand football you understand youngsters have to be developed. I would sign Charlie in a blink the lad is class

OP lost any credibility when mentioning Dougall & Connelly as midfielders Charlie should be aspiring to. Neither would get anywhere near another Championship midfield where as other posters have stated Charlie surrounded by other experienced, intelligent CM's would have flourished more. In a dogshit season I've enjoyed his earlier performances, goal vs nobbers, the song, visits to the Armfield with his dad & seemingly behaving as a seasider. Great attitude shame Poveda couldn’t follow his example. But you'd rather have Connelly & Dougall shitting themselves with the ball at their feet 🥺

Dougall scored more goals than patino this season 🤷 not saying I would prefer dougall or Connolly I'm saying patino was not the answer. Miles off the pace.

Name me one thing patino has done seriously? Dougall scored two at Wembley #shortmemories
Well, from what I have seen, when selected, he has always gone about his football 'seriously'. So, I think we can categorically state that is one thing he has most certainly done seriously, as you put it. If, however, he had done so 'frivolously', I would perhaps have viewed him in a slightly different light...

what has annoyed me most with him is his lack of confidence to express himself. When he gets on the ball he is just looking for the simple two yard pass or he will turn the oncoming player and go to ground for the quick foul when he is very capable of getting his head up and looking for a penetrating pass.He hasnt done himself justice this season in terms of the quality he has on the ball.We look at the lack of service Yates has had this season and Patino has the ability to weight some lovely passes in behind for Yates or some of the wide players but we havent seen enough of it.Even looking back to the QPR game away earlier in the season just before he rolled his ankle he was getting his head up in that game and popping some good crosses into the back post.Everything he did in that game was far more positive and he was getting his head up and influencing the game.He is also capable of a strike on goal but we havent seen enough of tht from him either and as for tackling he should be just told not to bother sliding in,just do not go to ground because his timing of them is terrible.Paul Scholes springs to mind,it just isnt his thing.

I would only have him back if he was able to play alongside more heavyweight and experienced midfielders to tackle and do the dirty work for him. He has been hopelessly exposed and not had anyone regularly alongside him to learn from this season.

I'm sorry, Willie Mac, but I feel I must take issue with the aforementioned post. Would it not have been a little less indelicate to end it thus: "... you'd rather have Connelly & Dougall defecating themselves with the ball at their feet"?
Sincere apologies for my rather prudish nature, but, if it's any consolation, can I just say I am in complete agreement with every single point you make.
(PS Now I've thought about it, perhaps 'shitting', as opposed to 'defecating', better captures the tone of the message you're trying to convey in what is an excellent post.)

He’s a young kid with loads of talent
I'd agree with this - definitely needs to bulk up over summer, needs much more maturity and nouse during a game but if he was available I'd take him for another season. That said, would prefer Fiorini.

Patino should have gone off either at half time or early in the second half...very poor and slow as ever tonight. Dobbie should have freshened up the midfield as we were losing the game there. I think Fiorini should have been paired with Trybull and Carey and we should have gone for it.
Patino had a shocker on Friday night; how on earth he stayed on beggared belief and clearly not good for him. He cannot hold the ball and gives the opponents too much sight of the ball (he does not use his body effectively)

If he wants, to come back as a BFC player I for one would not complain. He might be a little lightweight at the moment but he is class, and one to build a team around.
Same applies to Fiorini and Morgan, who both gave their all to us. This is why I want returning loanees to be given a chance and it would free up the budget to allow these types of signings to happen.

You have a very short memory or aren't really a fan?

Ballard is probably the best loan player we've had since Sadler took over. Where was he on loan from?
Ballard was a good player and not your typical arsenal player. He is a tough tackling centre half. It was more directed at John Jules from last season. Why don't you start supporting arsenal if you love their players so much?

The most important things is.... we adapt the song and continue to use it...

Raggy....

Only on AVFTT could you have a school of thought that Charlie Patino wouldn't be/hasn't been an asset to Blackpool FC

BUT

people think Kenny Dougall is the answer 🤔😂

Patino is a 19 year old child who's been asked to carry established pros like Dougall all season in his first season in men's football in arguably the worst team in the division........

When he goes elsewhere in the championship, permanently if today's news is to be believed, and he's In the right team with the correct protection of him and overall balance in midfield his true worth will shine through, but hey, we'll still have King Kenny hitting the first man with every set piece to fornicate over

The mind boggles

Why dont you stop supporting Blackpool if you dislike ours 🤷

Article suggesting Patino wants a permanent move. It's lazy journalism with a few incorrect facts but if true I'd welcome him to Blackpool for a low fee and a big sell-on clause to compensate the Gooners.

I think he did ok in his first season playing men's football but probably started too many games for a lad still learning the game. I bet Arsenal are surprised how many appearances he made for Pool and are delighted he got so much game time. Anyway good luck Charlie for the rest of your career and don't ever go signing for PNE.😁

Make your mind up . . your post said all Arsenal loan players have been as 'weak as piss' and now you are saying Ballard is a good player?

Anyway Ballard plays for Sunderland now . . and no I don't really want to start supporting them either :)

I'd have him back like a shot. Technically our best player, always shows and wants the ball and put our more experienced midfielders to shame. Needs to bulk up a bit for men's football but it's hardly a shock that a 19 Yr old kid would need to do that or might make a mistake or two.
Good luck to him and I reckon he will have himself a good career.

I've seen him make excellent passes.
Thats's why Arsenal are letting him go! I am talking about defence splitting passes that lead to a goal, or a shot on goal, not crossfield passes that do not penetrate the opposition defence. The lad is so short of pace he never runs free of his marker!

Really set the world on fire this season didn't he mate. Will be talking about all the times he got pushed over for the next twenty years and the countless times he let a midfielder run past him to score a goal.

He’s a take the young lad who got wrecked by being our defacto first choice midfielder. He should have dipped in and out and taken a bigger role towards the end of the season. He could have been like Garner was at forest.
