Fuck me that guy is woeful. All you guys been pining over him all season I've not seen him have more than one game decent all season.

So ** slow and clumsy on the ball. One of the worst centre mids we've had in years.

So many of you have been giving him too much time because he's on loan from arsenal but happy to slate our own players like Connolly and dougall who put a shift in. When was the last time we had a decent loan from arsenal? They are all weak as piss.

I'll give you slow, he cruises - only really got two gears.

But clumsy on the ball, no.

He has his plus points, but is very slow and weak in the championship.

A fiber says he'll play for England

The kid (that's right A KID) has a very big future ahead of him I reckon.

Our shit managers have seen him deteriate as the season has gone on

In midfield, we've had to rely on a 19 year old playing first team football for the first time, a 20 year old who's never played at championship level before, and a 22 year old who was playing for Kings Lynn in the national league north less than two years ago. Is it any wonder we've looked disorganised and mistake-ridden? We've consistently failed to sign any non-injury prone experience or leadership in midfield to help them, and I think we need to cut them all some slack. They've been let down badly by the club tbh. They're all good players who've been thrown together in to a situation that should never have been allowed to develop.

My point is why do you care so much about his future. He's come here as an inexperienced player and cost us numerous points. I couldn't care less what happens to him from here.

Judging from previous loan players we have had like Dewsbury hall, longstaff, shelveye etc patino won't even play for England ladies so you can shove your fiver

For me he was good at times, lightweight and wasteful and infuriating giving the ball away a lot at times. But in a team that was plagued by injuries, low on confidence and on a losing streak due to crap management he was never going to shine. In any other season he'd have shone. I thank him for his contribution and wish him well.

If he plays for Barcelona I'll be amazed. He looked average in a poor Blackpool team .
Been a tough time for him with us, if he'd been at a decent side maybe he'd have flourished.
A great prospect that has been let down by Arsenal IMO.

Sadly I doubt we've seen anything like the best of him.
He needed to be alongside (or in front of) at least 1 experienced championship level CD midfielder, but instead, he's been chasing shadows alongside another youngster from Kings Lynn. It's not exactly breaking news that our midfield has been weak this season.

Agreed that he's slow and relatively lightweight, but I wouldn't take out our miserable failure to sign a match fit experienced CDM on him.

Needs people do his work, class on the ball. We’ve never had a proper midfield round him to get the best out of him.

That burst of speed is lacking to get away from people but he’ll deffo have a good career.

It's all about balance, players like Patino can be brilliant alongside tough ball winners and grafters, he gives you the edge when it comes to opening defence's and playing neat football linking play between defence and attack. The fact is we've not had the support around Charlie that lets his ability shine through, we're as weak as piss in midfield and it's a major reason why we have gone down.

To be honest whilst I don't agree in full with the OP he hasn't been very good albeit in a terrible set up.

I did wonder why the Arsenal "wonderkid" came to us. You'd have thought multiple big hitters in this league would have been chomping at the bit for his services.

Saying that he may well end up being a great player. I'm not sure coming to us will have helped his development other than making him resilient when the chips are down.

I suspect Arsenal expected Critchley to be in charge.

I agree and I suppose my point came across wrong as I'm sure he's a good kid but I suppose my anger is more directed at whoever has decided he is capable of playing holding midfield in the championship. He's just not quick enough but I'm not blaming him solely it's more the fact that this is just an example of the strange decisions being made all season.

You have no clue what makes a good player if you can't see the class this lad has. Unbelievable!

Same with fiorini. Neither will make it. I'd rather have Aidy Forbes

Better post by you. Patino can be a class player. He's been dealt an awful hand being made to play in a failing side.

So it was clear who our manager was when he came.

He's a kid and could have added a bit to an already decent midfield, but ultimately was a bit weak in ours.
OK, I understand. But I don't think Arsenal expected him to be played the way he has. I was at Coventry. We'd just beaten Preston and we were playing some good, fluid football. That is what Patino was about.

Yeah, he was asked a lot of and not protected, but also wasn't upto the physicality and with the lack of pace gor exposed at times.

But it'll be valuable experience for the young lad.

He has plus points, good technical player , great attitude and always time for the fans when he met them.

Thought Patino had one of his better games tonight. My only fault with the lad is he goes to ground everytime he makes a tackle. Normally ends up the opposing player gets a foul or comes away with the ball.
Bit lightweight, but that can be said about all our players, one of Millwalls goals tonight came from a powder puff tackle. Most of our players go on the floor far too easy nor can head a ball.
I think Patino will go much further than Fiorini in the game. His goal was great unlike his hanging on to the ball for to long and his hit it as hard and long as you can crossing.

I'll put this in the simplest of terms.

If you think that either Dougall or Connolly are better footballers than Patino.......then football isn't your game. You need to move on, and quickly.

You OK hun ?

No physical presence and too easily dis-possessed.
Passing not good enough
Shooting not good enough
Not sufficiently aware of the players around him - both his and the oppositions.
Far too slow

Patino should have gone off either at half time or early in the second half...very poor and slow as ever tonight. Dobbie should have freshened up the midfield as we were losing the game there. I think Fiorini should have been paired with Trybull and Carey and we should have gone for it.

Patino is technically far better than anyone we have. You can't put blame on him for the failure of others around him though. He's not a tough tackling holding midfielder and to critique him on that basis is just lunacy. He needed a Bridcutt or a Stewart with him. Instead he got Sonny Carey who frankly should be loaned back to King's Lynn

Physically weak, easily dispossessed, lacking pace

Great skills, reads the game well, lovely passer

So send him oop north to toughen up in a physical league where he will be forced to grow up. And he'll go back to London a better player and person than when he left. Whether that benefits the loan club is open to debate.

Patino like all our loans this season should have been playing in Lge 1 not the Championship.

Their too young for the toughness of this league making the steps up the football pyramid not everyone can be a Owen or Rooney the majority start to flourish early 20's.
