I'll always have a lot of time for him after his loan stint for us. Pretty much kept us up single handedly and that double at Hull

What a player!!!! He scored the winner against The Massive in a must win game..I think they got relegated that season

Yep, thought the same so I just checked
He scored a 90th minute winner in February 08 in our 2-1 win.
We did the double over them, which helped keep us up and iirc helped sent them down
Edit, he scored a pretty good goal v the massive as well. Cleveleys Boy is quite right. I was at both games and still had to look it up. Memory going a bit.

A great thing about Dickov's time with us IMO, was after the rondos and squad drills in the match warmup, the squad would line up and take turns blazing footballs at the sub keeper, mostly hitting row Z.
Dickov always took a goalie aside and practiced putting it bottom corner, again, and again, and again and again. After a few weeks, the whole squad were doing that rather than trying to score worldies.
I think he was probably one who really made the most of the talent he had. And I mean that as a compliment.

I couldn’t stand Divkov - until he came to us & I realised he was ‘king brilliant at shithousery & every other aspect of the game. When he came on against Leicester you could see the whites of their eyes and they couldn’t wait to get rid of the ball. He was an absolute wasp. Tremendous signing.

I remember the Sheff Wed game because the promotion from the club for it was the Lord Kitchener poster ("Your club needs you") with Grayson's face instead haha
Leicester away was the first game of that season wasn't it? Memorable for two things
- Wes Hoolahan being named in the starting line up (The club had been embroiled in legal action with Livingston so he wasn’t expected to play)
- Keith Southern getting the winning goal

Loved Dickov. Had a bulldog approach, hard working, did the dirty stuff & famously, loved a woodbine or 10 off the pitch. Proper player.

Chris Sutton looks better than he used to. Micah Richards looks well too (admittedly he's not that old). But in general, yep, you're right.
I worked with Graham Fellows as his soundman about 20 years ago at the charter theatre in Preston. I was introduced to him as Graham and we talked about how he wanted the show running. When he was in make up and dressed as John Shuttleworth he was totally in character. I called him Graham in the green room and he didn't answer. I called him John and he replied. He was great to work with.I have now fallen down a John Shuttleworth YouTube wormhole...

You are not wrong Hills.
He gave his all, every time and for every team he played for.
Scotland were playing Holland in Euro play-offs, somehow managed to win the first leg 1-0 and then were 3-0 down away from home - about to be 6 - and the Dutch were fannying around with it at the back but Dickov chased everything even though there wasn't a cat-in-hells chance of getting back in the game.
