Sadly passed away age 68, great centre forward.
Good cricketer too.Another one gone far too early.
RIP.
What a fantastic side that was and Mariner played his part, an excellent Centre Forward and became a decent commentator, but as I recall he didn’t endear himself to Blackpool fans with some of his comments during derbies - but for all that another good Chorley lad taken too soon RIP Paul.Saw him on US tv a few years ago as a pundit. Looked nothing like the player we knew in the 80’s.
Sad news, he was certainty a star name in that great Ipswich team, with Brazil, Walk, Gates, Muhren, Butcher, Mills etc
Yeah. He wasn’t liked on Lancs. What a fantastic side that was and Mariner played his part, an excellent Centre Forward and became a decent commentator, but as I recall he didn’t endear himself to Blackpool fans with some of his comments during derbies - but for all that another good Chorley lad taken too soon RIP Paul.

Remember those days well. Mariner and Richard Dinnis - didn't Dinnis come and work for us for a while under Worthington?Yeah. He wasn’t liked on Lancs.
