Looks I've been put in the problem group by BR and the one thing I've never got into on here is the threads about taking the knee or anything remotely can be judged as racism ever my posts are there for all to see so putting me anywhere near that group he calls it is bang out of order.

I just wanted to add that the catinstalbans is by far the greatest batsman that this site has ever seen.
He is nothing short of a professional dogwalker and there are a pack of eager poodles on here that he regularly takes around the block.
His keepnet is always overflowing with juicy pink salmon, flapping around helplessly.
His work provides a valuable service to society, in that some angry middle aged men have a legitimate outlet for their anger. In the course of this selfless labour he has been subjected to a great deal of personal abuse including accusations of paedophilia, people telling he is not fit to do his job and various other below the belt insults.
But he still returns to the fray, helping those very same people to vent their futile anger. What a great public servant he is!
I doff my cap to you sir!

No, it did not, you appeared to think the second pint was related to you, which is so you, but it wasn't.
No I didn't think that at all. Why would i? As I said, I recalled the 'incident' and commented at the time that it was reprehensible. No idea why you would think I would think it was related to me. You recalled it as did I and I simply repeated my thoughts now to as they were at the time.

Brilliant stuff. I notice you didn't return to the schools thread when I challenged you. You challenged people, I took up the challenge but it seems you feigned injury and retired hurt.. No doubt the pace of the bowling was too quick for you. Stick to minor counties stuff, if you don't mind me suggesting that. More your level.

Personally i think it’s the arrogance in particular, and the coming across with an air of superiority and self importance in the replies of one or two posters that can be annoying to some. Whereas it rather amuses me how serious and wound up they can become. Ironically this thread could get out of hand eventually, especially when it hits the late/twilight hours, when some are getting tired and emotional.

That sounds to me like more of an issue with your own personal insecurities TBH and it's a bit unfair to project that onto other people. However if you really do struggle to accept people who are different to yourself or who's particular writing style you find objectionable, then use the ignore button.

Facebook have cracked down on abuse recently and now have an algorithm looking for insults. A group my other half is a member of nearly got shut down recently for abusive language. The problem though was that it was a post where someone had called themselves a stupid idiot 😀

I'm on a Spurs site where there is the facility to issue a yellow card to another poster. This is the shown against their username when posting. If more than x Yellow cards are issued, Admin have the ability to issue a red card, banning that poster for x number of weeks. Not sure if this site has the functionality to handle this but an idea ?

Personally I think it would encourage the kind of group bullying that already exists. The RWNJ's would gang up on CAT for starters and that way we lose a very thought provoking poster, simply because they grind a few gears.

How about letting the Mods moderate like they used to otherwise what do they expect.
I really don't think it's that bad just use the Ignore button.

Spot on. (S)he schools the same bunch of blokes every day as (s)he schools her / his classroom at school. It's hilarious the amount of teenage angst (s)he causes these "men".

I'd suggest the exact opposite. The left dominate this side of the board and don't like their opinions to be challenged. I'd suggest there's a good few posters who don't/won't visit this side of the board because of it. Whether you like it or not there's a big clique over here. Said it yesterday, people on here only see what they want to see.

imo This board works well as it is, I’ve never pressed ignore button and never would, but the facility is there if one needs it. This forum can be annoying, amusing, sad, controversial, catty, helpful, but all encompassing for Pool fans which we all are.

I must admit, I don't see that 20's... Having your opinion challenged is the whole point isn't it?

EDIT: It is for me in any case... If too many people start agreeing with me I change sides 😀

Does anyone else know Blackpool fans who know about AVFTT but don’t bother with it as they think it’s full of keyboard warriors who talk bollocks?

Threads like this don’t do much for that perception I’m afraid.

Why people would want to argue and get quite personal with people they've never met is beyond me. Of course yes discussion is good and can be healthy, but on here far too much it turns personal/nasty and nobody comes out looking good out of it, particularly this message board as a whole and for attracting new members.

Of course it is. But as Jaffa said, it seems it's ok to call some-one a racist on here simply because they don't agree with a certain course of action. Throw accusations the other way and the mob gather and people go running to the mods.

This site (under one form or another) has attracted more Blackpool Fans and been more succesful than any other site. In the almost two decades that the site has been going, it has seen off numerous attempts at breakaway forums and remained the most popular site by an absolute country mile.

That success has been down to the widespread content, the range of opinions, the individual posters who contribute and the overall quality of the discussion and debate.

It's inevitable on such a busy site that there will be a few spats and personality clashes now and again.... Those posters who choose not to come on here for whatever reason are missing out on a fantastic site..... Though there will never be a shortage of new and interested members as there never has been.

Why not go back to restricting em using all the naughty words . That'd at least look less abusive.. plus not everyone wants to go down the effing n geffing route. Younger fans, grannies , me etc .

Self regulation is by far the best way forward. All that is being asked is that we all take responsibility for it. That means accepting that we are not all going to agree and that personal attacks and abuse are not right or clever. If someone is feeling vulnerable such attacks could really damage them. I do believe avfft is brilliant and we are all a family within it as a recent thread clearly indicated.
