Petrol queues

Just dropped my daughter off at Morrisons Squires Gate, could hardly get near the place for queues at the petrol station. Panic, Panic!!

Brent crude went up about $9 per barrel yesterday. It's now back (more or less) to where it started Thursday. It's generally higher, but the difference at the pump is likely to be about 1p per litre. So really not worth the hassle unless you have several 30,000 litre tankers that you're planning on filling...

Yup - that's the west Kirby demographic all over 👍

I'm glad I don't still live in Lytham with the wind tunnel warning going off at Warton. Used to scare the shit out of me sometimes when I was a kid.

both my lads and wifes cars are near enough empty. Went to Sainsburys Talbot Rd to fill up and it was closed. Had to go next door to the Shell who are restricting diesel to £30.

no, it's just got cones up. Plenty of cars were going in and turning round. Will be nipping out again in an hour or so with my lad to fill up so will update then.
Bollix. I've got an empty tank. You might have to stand in for me at Bloomfield Rd on Monday cleaning up.

Got my petrol from Morrison's in Harwood. There was a queue but what really pee'd me off was that the pump showed the person ahead of me had spent only £10.
Inside the store they'd sold out of chicken kievs. 😉
To cap it all when I set off home my car has gone into "limp mode" and couldn't drive at more than 15mph.
Waiting for RAC now.

Wonder if people will start hoarding tinned food & bottled water, building bunkers of just revert to the old Duck & Cover suggestions during the 50's

Morrisons have had an offer, spend over 40 quid in store and get 7p a litre discount. The voucher expires on Sunday so they are all trying to cash them in before they expire.
People see all the queues at Morrisons, think there is a petrol shortage and it escalates from there, so many petrol stations are rammed.
Crazy!

yep, Talbot Rd Sainsburys still closed, no idea why as otheres open as normal with no queues.

Great news. I’m borrowing the wife’s I-pace and a megaphone.

All the workers that need fuel are at work - all those that could stay at home I’m retired bliss are forming a queue.

I’m going to go full on smug mode driving past them all and baiting their sad lives.

Feel sorry for workers who have to commute. Lucky to be able to work at home.

Bet there are loads of coffin dodgers all queuing up to put £6 in to top up the Yaris.

Worse case scenario is I’ve got to tell work I can’t go in because there’s no petrol. Work from home again. Or is that best case scenario? Hard to tell these days.

Last time there was panic buying was a few days after we played Middlesbrough away & I nearly didn't bother filling up before towing the caravan back from a nearby festival on the Monday after, as I probably would have had just about enough to get home, bloody glad I did otherwise I'd have been on the fumes, as it went crazy. Got approx. 200 miles in the tank ATM so that will do for work & until we go away again. If those morons who cause these issues just bought in the manner they usually do, there wouldn't be any shortages.

It was closed on Tuesday when I went for fuel. Had a load of traffic cones out, think the canopy above the pumps was damaged with the high winds.
