Pie on Strikes

FFS, why does it always have to turn into “well I’ve got it worse than you” in these conversations.

I don’t work in the public sector but I know public servants are getting ripped off and have been for a while now. All those people you clapped for working through the pandemic are fed up of being paid peanuts whilst the government sorts out it’s rich mates.

These are people we all need, people who have a massive impact yours and you families lives. They don’t want to strike, this government has forced their hand by trying to consistently fuck them over.

Go and do some research before you start criticising people who are striking, put yourselves in their shoes and perhaps try and show a bit of ** empathy. These people have chosen careers that give a bit back to their communities, a bit of appreciation and support wouldn’t go amiss.

I actually don’t care if people put a bit of work through as cash or whatever, everyone’s at it. But don’t have the cheek to have a go at people who are just trying to get a fair deal, doing that makes you a prick.

It beggars belief Lytham. But are these bonuses built in to the contract when they take on the franchise? Surely there should be enough potential profit without these bonuses. Otherwise why are they bidding for the franchise in the first place? They're not doing it to make a loss.
If it's anything like the NHS contracts they'll have very loose KPIs that mean very little anyway as CCQs can't be arsed tendering again once it's done.

No one pays cash anymore tbh…yes once upon a time it went on..now everything is bank transfers etc..
Personally I do a fair bit of contracting , they take 20% off and pay to hmrc…
I’m sure fiddles go on, but it’s a bit of an old wives tale now, it’s like me saying every civil servant spends all day in the smoking room fiddling there flexi time…..😎🍺
Yes, there is no smoking on the premises 😉

Nail on the head.

It also highlights how society can be tricked into thinking a particular way by media campaigns and a controlled narrative that results in a ‘divide and conquer’ operation as seen perfectly on this thread.

It’s not the self-employed or the Civil servants, it’s those bastard political elites, who only want to fill their pockets by whatever scam or fraudulent activity they can, whilst emptying the pockets of normal people, like me and you.

This isn’t about what side your political stance is, this is about lying (and never accountable for it), self-serving greedy bastards only in it for themselves & a media that try and tell you diffferent.

If you fall for that you are a full on mug.

Up the workers 👏🏻

Get what you're saying AK, but it's hard to get on board with individuals like JP (although he is just an act taking the rip out of shouty lefties - most of his early stuff was written by GB News presenter Andrew Doyle). He wasn't railing against furlough, or T&T, or any of the other conditions which helped create rampant inflation. File under yet another smart arse after the event.

Yep it’s a fair point, I’ve seen him calling out “anti-vaxxers” before in this style.

I’m just judging it on this particular moment as i genuinely see lots of similarities in the media campaigns against the strikers, to those who moaned about lockdowns, pointless restrictions and those who didn’t want to be vaccinated.

It’s been a real learning curve these last few years for me 😊

For all you Tories out there, don't put any food on the bird table during this cold weather. It makes them reliant on handouts.
