Pitiful away attendance at Sunderland.

What do you reckon is the higher capacity?

A full carriage on the big one or fleetwoods attendance away at Sunderland?

Great effort, bet they created some real noise. Nearly as many stewards, must have been hard to maintain order.

Must be a little embarrassing for the players when they see what following they have when coming out to kick off.

I wouldnt slag anyone off who makes such a long journey to see a team playing so poorly...fair play to them all...I would be more questioning of some of our fans who cant be arsed going to any away games even when we are playing well and riding the crest of a wave. To be fair we now get nearly 2k at most away games and the word is spreading about just how good a day out it is.

Instead of worrying about other teams lets try and get as many as possible to our games and get a few more to sample the atmosphere home and away. The fans that do go are magnificent and you can see the players and manager really appreciate the support. The ones who do travel really are a 10/10 but the more the merrier. Covid restrictions are no longer a valid excuse and neither is saying the football is no good.

I have brought a few new faces to Bloomfield road this season and they have all enjoyed it. Im bringing a guy who used to watch us home and away in the 80s and early 90s but has drifted away so hopefully he gets the bug again. We could do with filling the empty seats at Bloomfield road and I echo Adams Kebab's posts about how we can get more through the turnstiles...the club MUST be more proactive...perhaps a 5 games for 60 or 70 package will tempt some back

Problem is, having worked in Fleetwood for 13 years and getting to know an awful lot of cod heads is that they just don't leave Fleetwood. A couple of them didn't even know how to get to Bispham and they were in their 40's.

You need a passport to leave there.

Joking aside fair play to the 20 that went to Sunderland.

They’ll be selling the pies off cheap today….. what do you mean you ordered 1500 pies for the away fans 😄
Fair play to those who went

Remember the chants of going home in a f***ing ambulance?
That Fleetwood away attendance would comfortably fit in one with room to spare

Really can't understand the fixation with Fleetwood's support. They have a small catchment area, have resource constraints, are off form and are punching above their weight. Good look to them.
And if we were playing Sunderland on a cold Tuesday night, I doubt I would be there either
But even taking those factors into account,if that pic is the actual numbers they took the club should in reality be nowhere near the football league.

It's almost as if they're a north-west counties club who've undergone years of disproportionate over-spend by an unscrupulous owner and now find themselves batting well above their average as a result whilst awaiting the pop of the inevitably bursting bubble to sound around their ears.

Oh wait...

(fair play to those that traveled)

Have you tried getting in or out of Fleetwood . Its virtually cut off by constant roadworks & now you can't even get a boat out of what was once the biggest West coast fishing port in the country .

Fleetwood will survive -

just had over £2million in the last 2 months for Hill and Matete, and half a million for an England 16 year old to Villa just pre-season, plus cash for Ched Evans, a good deal on Paddy Madden and transfer money for Wes Burns and Kyle Dempsey - all-in-all the best IN money since Pilley began.
- but they need to stay up.

More to the point, they had to make three substitutions due to injury and must be struggling for numbers.** Bolton did them a big favour last night.

** I'm guessing, but they do seem to have a lot missing.

I can't believe we have Blackpool fans defending that support.

We had 5 × more away at Chelsea watching our kids, than they have for a 3 hour trip to Sunderland in the league.

AP had invested a fortune in them, it's his money and he can do what he wants with it, but you're not telling me last night he didn't look at that and think "this club doesn't deserve me."

This crap about not being used to travel, league football and all that other nonsense needs putting to bed.

They've been climbing up the pyramid for years, are an established League One club, have done loads in the community and they still couldn't sell a coach full to one of the biggest teams in the North who are fighting for promotion.

Every credit for those few who went knowing they were going to be beaten; but there's no defending that.

It's not embarrassing, it's humiliating.

From clips I've seen on YouTube I assume they don't have truancy officers anymore as fanbase was about 14 years old why weren't they in school.

Just speaking to a Cod head the travel was only a fiver!

I remember being in an away attendance similar to that when we played Exeter away c1984 Stonehouse scored in a 1-1 draw.
I was at that very game. We had a full coach and a few more. Probably 100 of us. It was heavy rain all the way down.
On the way home, we had bricks thrown at our coach windows, but none popped.
We also stopped off at some pub and back on the coach, it was full of pub stuff like stools, pool balls, a mirror and some glasses, oh and ash trays.

About 2am, we pulled up at Frankly service station and the 50 Blackpool fans emptied the petrol station shop.
There was chocolate, sweets, magazines, toys, books, you name it getting swapped around.

We got home at about 5am and I felt like shite all that day at work.
Happy old away games.

Minibuses are cheaper 😊
This will make you chuckle Al from who I was talking to.
The first coach was leaving at 2 the club got in contact with them yesterday and others on the database asking if they wanted to go to Sunderland and they'd put on another coach leaving at 3.30 no one replied so it got pulled.🤣

I know Pilley has probably got money to burn, but it must be soul destroying.

Relegation could be the beginning of the end of them as a league team.

Hope so.

So the Cod liver oil army take a handful to an away game and it merits this response?
Anyone would think they were rivals? 🙄

So a small club yes and a decent journey on a weeknight.

But as some say Pilley has invested in that club heavily, they are struggling but if that was us people would say this is when they need you most.

It was a fiver to go, subsided travel.

Poor effort.

There were plenty of multi-scarfers and Cod's on here bigging them up at our nadir; they are not rivals, but those people need reminding.

Blackpool fans campaigned under the banner "Football without fans is nothing" - by that definition FTFC are barely a football club.

Indeed but they still get bigger threads on here than they do on the Codhead and Fishybits forum. Bizarre given the circumstances but hey ho.

Assuming they are fans forums (fora?) I think it reinforces the point, FTFC aren't a football club worthy of the name.

That's not to decry the ambition of the owner and how he has invested his personal wealth into trying to create something; but it's not worked, it's not going to work and he probably deserves better.

Aye ok but you could say similar things about other clubs where being small isn't really important, and where I guess you could say AP has maximised FTs (very small) potential.

The thing i find quite striking is the effect its had on the local community, where the training/leisure facilty has been excellent and local folk have bought into it.
If the Seasiders could replicate that on a similar but pro rata basis, then it would improve not only Championship status but also improve the inner wards in the town.
