Places in Wales for a holiday.

Ask the Welsh Fella to stay at his place and promise you’ll take him an Armenian kebab with 3 chilli sauce, always a winner 😉

Llandudno is good fun for a short stay. Try the much faded Grand Hotel. Cheap and you get all you can eat breakfast, bars and a daft show chucked in sometimes. It has a snooker table downstairs that no-one seems to bother using. Get a sea facing balcony room.

Tenby & Saundersfoot are nice, although the drive is a bit of a drag.
The Llyn peninsula has great beaches & it's own micro climate.
Barmouth is also nice and not too far to drive to.
Avoid Rhyl as it's allegedly the drugs capital of North Wales & the holiday parks are full of noisey scousers, with anti social kids (allegedly!).

A49 and across or down the coast loads of places, to break up the journey, or enjoy the scenery

Beddgelert, Llangollen, Aberaeron, Newport Sands, Aberdovey, Portmeirion, St-Davids to name a few more. All are amongst my favourite UK places.

Lived in Anglesey for several years. Many lovely beaches and easy drive to Snowdonia.
You can easily pop over to Dublin for the day from Holyhead.
The island have lots of sunshine too, particular the Western side.

Aberaeron was lovely recently, the Harbourmaster Hotel. Also stayed in the Glengower at Aberystwyth - both very picturesque locations and decent places to stay.

My family had a static caravan in Penmaenmawr, ( hope I’ve spelt it right ) , which was great because it really opened up the west coast of wales. There are some beautiful places to visit.

At Erddig as I type this but can't risk overnight in Wales so staying in Chester for a couple of nights.

Definitely North Wales. Portmeirion is a must visit and the Ffestiniog Railway. You can cross the Menai bridge and see the station with the longest name. Conwy nice and Llandudno.

Portmeirion is wonderful on a sunny day. Even better, go when there is a “Prisoner” convention on, as we did.
Nearby, Blaenau Ffestiniog, with all the slate quarries and spoil heaps is like an alien planet.
