Players that could come in.

Charlie Kirk I think is out of contract and Critch rated him enough to bring him to the Championship.

Kyle Joseph is a youngster we tried bring in early on. He joined Swansea and hasn’t really played there. Had a successful season on loan at Oxford scoring 9 in a struggling team.

Demeaco Duhanneny - joined Stoke over us. Now out of contract too.

Wouldn’t surprise me to target those above.

I’d love to see us go out and bring Taylor-Moore in now he’s been let go by Bristol City. Ready made Thorniley replacement and immense in League 1. Relatively young and talented and capable of getting back to Championship football.

I’d be interested to talk to Ben Woodburn - (stay with me!) never did it at Blackpool, showed *some* promise at PNE but I understand has turned down a new deal as he wants first team football… could flourish in League 1 after a season or two of actually playing the men’s game.

Cole Stockton - ready made replacement for Gary Madine - in his prime, scores at this level, high on confidence and easily within budget.

Connor Ripley - another Morecambe player now out of contract. Perfect age as a GK to come in as no.2 and push Grimmy for no.1 spot. 6ft 3’ too so offers an alternative.

Aden Flint - out of contract. Experienced (very slow) but an absolute colossus of a defender who scores goals. If we can accommodate Keogh’s lack of pace in the Chanpionship then we can use Flint in League 1

Richard Keogh - if he’s still fit and able to play, it’s surely a no brainier.

Sam nombe - Exeter top scorer 17 last season
Jensen weir - Brighton youngster did well in a struggling morecambe side
Taylor Moore - explain above
Jordan graham - released by Birmingham, decent winger
Anthony scully - good winger, imagine all the players want out of Wigan atm

I’d like to see another Trybull or Grettarson from abroad as well.

Hopefully our chief scout from Cov has still been busy drawing up targets as he never left with Badlan as far as I’m aware.

Kirk has a year left at Charlton

We need a good experienced campaigner who would be 1st choice CB alongside Ekpiteta, Tommy Leigh 23yrs from Accrington Stanley 12 goals this season valued at £200.00 or part ex Tharme if not in favour. Fiorini & Rogers would be serious additions but dont expect that to happen.

Very surprised Luke Jephcott has been released by Plymouth. He'd be an incredible signing
Swindon have an option on him - though not sure if that still holds if he’s been released?

Doesn’t feature in Schumachers preferred formation - hence being shipped out.

We, really do not know the players released from Prem sides, but Bowler and Lavery were both good enough to go straight into the squad and we're the right age.
Couple more would do nicely

We should raid Wigan for their best out of contract players eg Max Power (midfielder who actually stays fit!)

Kevin van Veen at Motherwell would be a tremendous replacement for Gary Madine, strong battering ram type of striker that actually scores a lot of goals! Some might remember him playing for Scunny a few years back.
He was nominated for SPL player of the year, he won't be on a great deal at Motherwell but expect there will be a lot of interest in him, may be outwith our budget??

Very.

It’s a common theme with players who come through our doors. We must be the common denominator with our training facilities.
I don't think we are alone tbh, other clubs seem to suffer a fair bit too. A curse of the modern game I reckon. To differing extents though.

Some interesting names on here, Stockton, Ripley, Jephcott and Taylor-Moore would all be great additions, if they have all been released, which I think they have, why not get on with it and start building some positive vibes.

Because their contracts run until June and no deals can be confirmed until they have expired. I expect us to be clinical in the transfer market this pre-season. It may well be we look to spend the Yates money before that is announced?

Can we pounce and offer pre-contracts before their current ones run out, like Turton did with Huddersfield?

No doubt Mike Garrity will return as no 2 , he was at Lincoln part of last season and may well push to sign Carl Rushworth on loan from Brighton to compete with Grimmy. He was highly regarded whilst on loan at Lincoln last season.

Worth a shout are:-

Toby Savin from Stanley for me
Luke Jephcott definitely
Louie Barry from Villa on loan
Jake Taylor and Cole Stockton from Morecambe
Jonathan Williams from Swindon (still only 29)

Youngster On loan

Maybe Layton Stewart from Liverpool

Kirk's contracted to Charlton until 2025, but surplus there, so maybe a deal is possible.

Joseph, I suspect that Swansea see him as one for the future, so a loan's the best we'll get.

Duhaney, we tried to sign when we needed a RB, we don't now, and he's 24, turning 25 and hasn't done much in his career so far.

Woodburn extended his contract a week ago, and played 42 games last season, how much more first team football does he want?

Keogh, if he was fit and able to play then Ipswich wouldn't have released him.

Another keeper, a decent left back (3rd division is still too high a league for Thompson), an attacking MF, a couple of strikers and recall Tharme and maybe Casey.

Hopefully he’ll also give opportunities to the like of Apter and maybe Daniels in time.

Left back we have Husband, Reece James to come back and Lankshear knocking on the door, so not a priority for me regardless of Thompson (who I think will benefit under Critch)

Central midfield and wide positions key
