Please sign and share to Keep kids playing football

It will turn out to be a lot longer than 4 weeks, kids need exercise and kids football should be exempt from the lockdown.
They are only kids once and 4 weeks in a child's life is a long time they have already lost out on so much.

Our u11's team break for the whole of December, so it is gonna be 2 months at the very least before they're back playing again.

It's just more inconsistent nonsense from this government; 30 kids are safe sat in a classroom, but not running around a field.

Signed, ludicrous decision to halt kids footy, swimming pools could still operate for kids also if supervised covidly (new word?😉) Kids need to excercise as part of their growth and development!

I agree they should be able to carry on, the only issue I have is the last time my lad played all the parents were stood next to each other in big groups chatting away and it turned out 2 of the parents had Covid and half the people had to isolate, so for me the adults that’s watch have to be more responsible

At school they have assigned 'bubbles' that control the risk of spreading within the school environment. Grassroots football will mix these school 'bubbles' with up three or more times at training and double that again at any match that is played. If we are to control spread, we need to control the cross infection of 'bubbles'. It is only for 4 weeks at the moment and hopefully training and matches can restart soon after. With the number of all weather pitches around Blackpool now, football can continue deep into winter. With regards to parents watching, if they can possibly limit it to one parent and ensure they stay socially distanced then that would help, but you have to remember that the coaches and refs are in the mix. It's an extremely tough shout, but anything that will stop this virus spreading must be tried.

Its mental and full of inconsistencies

In Wales where i live ny kids haven't been allowed to play for the last week or so, before then they could only train

So we have basically lost 3 months of this season plus all the summer tournaments and the end of last season

So no matches for 6 months

To be honest, this whole Lockdown 2.0 has so many ridiculous consequences - my son has started swimming and he is in a lane on his own, we have to towel him down and stick him in a tracksuit and then leave without seeing anyone - if that isn't safer that walking round Aldi then am not sure what else is!!

The only excuse the Government may have is it's not the kids playing but the watching parents congregating without social distancing and perhaps passing on the virus.
