Pogba

Pogba kind of epitomises where United are going wrong. They could have got rid ages ago or, better still,, never re-signed him, and had a much better midfield, for less money probably. There's no good reason for keeping him at the club, surely, and everyone can see it, I would have thought. I also don't understand why VdB never gets a game. It's like there's weird internal politics that decides things rather than common sense.

Vastly overrated and overvalued player. When he should be a leader on the pitch he is usually missing in action and his attitude often stinks. Just goes through the motions to pick up his astronomical pay.

A midfield three that includes Milner and Henderson should not be able to go to OT and win 5-0, but it did and it's 100% down to attitude. There was a very interesting thread on here recently discussing which is more important, ability or attitude. Well there's your answer.

Utd's signings in the last five years at least are all over the place and suggest a total lack of a clear strategy.

Great player on his day and a WC winner.
That was his day. Turns up once in a blue moon when the attention of the world is on him. So he can preen himself in front of a worldwide audience. Like a peacock.

Have United had value for money? Not in a billion years. I don't understand why they didn't boot him out ages ago. He's part of the problem.

Gave a goal away and got sent off against Liverpool. He’s two extremes of a player, excellent or very poor, not a lot in-between. His agent says too much too and it’s always about him not staying etc. As a new manager he’s be one id be happy to offload.

Consistent and world class for France. Inconsistent for United and i have certainly heard this complaint from their fans. He went missing for long periods in the Europa league final when his club had a right to rely on him. Surprised he is still there.

he's an enigma alright. Incredibly talented and gifted player who really should be up there as one of the best players in the world currently playing. But he simply can't be trusted to turn up and perform every week which with the ability he has should be a given. Certainly for United he's not been worth the fee and he's underperformed. Perhaps it won't help his own ego that he's not the biggest name player at the team now CR has arrived.

One of the problems of people like Pogba who get too much money.
They think they are better than anyone else.
Got so much money he thinks he's a GOD on the pitch.
Many other players earning money like that are honest, and try to play the game properly.
He's just a spoilt brat really.🤥

think you need to edit your post Dav. Pogba is the subject not Drogba. Drogba was very much a team player.

I'm sure he'd probably do well in Italy, or maybe France/Spain, but it seemed obvious from the start that he didn't really want to be at United and his performances reflect that, to be honest I don't know why he signed in the first place.

Pogba often plays brilliant for France, but only shows occasional glimpses when playing for Man Utd. It's difficult to reason why his Premiership performances are so poor, but I can only assume that although they have some good forwards, they seem to have no flow in the team going forward from the back, whereas playing for his country, he is just one of a team of great players who bring out the best in each other. I think that having Peter Schmeichel for years and now David de Gea in goal is papering over the cracks in their squad.

He lost himself up his own derrier a long time ago. I bet he talks about himself in the third person. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. But someone will pay him more than United currently are. That's the wacky world of football.

Always seems like he's getting it together and regularly showing the quality he has and then all it takes is some bad form and he almost gives up. The whole "I want to sign a new contract", "I don't want to sign a new contract", "I want to be here", "I don't want to be here" thing from him is exhausting. He was never going to flourish under Ole though, I doubt he respects him, it's like that Fury vs Wilder fight the other night, Wilder being trained by a guy he knocked out in one round, doubt Ole can really get through to a person with the money, fame, influence of Paul Pogba.

Fact is, there's probably 50-100 players with generational talent, but very very few have the mentality and hunger for success that Ronaldo, Messi, Charlie Adam in 09-10, etc. had and Pogba has that level of expectation (and rightly so given his image and wages), he has to be great consistently and I don't think he has the dedication and focus for that.
