Points from December games

How many points would you say keep him longer?
It is as much about the performance as the points.

If the performances are vastly improved but we are undone by a piece of rotten luck then that is hard to take but better than a diabolical performance with no sign of any hope.

Was Wigan a diabolical performance? I don't think it was.

No it wasn't. We battled hard with a man short and were 5 minutes from getting a well earned point.

You've always got your tangerine tinted specs on Wiz - not a crime - although I see you've replaced them with your St Georges tonight - again, not a crime - but I am with you all the way here.

If Wigan don't score on 87, 88 whatever, the next day you will hear about a good battling performance.

I know plenty will say but Wigan did score but they are very fine lines and were we really that bad if it was 1-1 after 87 minutes - 70 of which we were a man down.

You'd know more than me but I imagine there must have be other bad performances/results or we wouldn't be second bottom - saying that there is more than half a season still to play and we are 6 points of half-way.

I just thought thus was a bad example. We were worse at WBA for starters. Never got going at all, though they won't be anywhere near the relegation spots. Again, it was very late we conceded, but unlike Wigan, we never looked like scoring.

I'd like to think now we have players back, and the group have had time to recharge the batteries, we'll be able to hit the ground running and show much more energy and intensity. So I'm going to be optimistic and say 7pts, starting with a win against Brum

Employing the two people he has this week I think SS has shown he accepts things need to change. If I were Appleton I think I’d know how important these next four games are to me.

I'm sure several clubs and their fans will be hopeful that respective squads will be firing on all cylinders, with players returning from injury and an opportunity to benefit from intensive training during an autumn break.
We are no different to the majority of teams who believe they are raring to go; over to the coaching staff

4, you heard it here
I agree.

The players will be well rested so I think we will beat Brum and draw the next match v Cardiff. The players will then become knackered again after putting so much effort in in the first two games back and will lose against Hull and Sheff Utd.

We have League One quality players busting a gut trying to compete against Championship quality players.

Roll on January transfer window.
