So did Burnley who are probably a better example , but these clubs that get to the prem become instantly richer then teams like Sheffield Wednesday ,Derby County , Bolton etc and once they have that money it becomes difficult to displace them. You never know , we may still have been a Prem club if all the money had not been stolen by Oyscum.

Grimsby!? They haven't even managed a 5000 average attendance in 20 years. We are Man United compared to bloody Grimsby.

The only thing we lack in, and the only thing that really matters is budget and infrastructure, we have the history and a decent enough fanbase to maintain championship football and Grimsby, Stockport, Barnsley, Notts County, Bristol Rovers, Plymouth would kill to have half of our success as a club.

They instantly fell back to rhe depths of non League and are now back in League Two. Karma.

Yep, some managers you can accept leaving for a bigger club but Megson doing it for Stockport was a strange one. Bit like Peter Clarke going to Southend.
