Obviously ignores the fan power that makes BFC go up another gear also.
But I think Critch is loving it here.
"Won't be there long"
Actually he kind of has to say that Critch won't be here long, cos Critch is making his own manager look a bit hopeless and that needs justifying! In making these comments, it makes me wonder if he ever considers why Darren Ferguson isn't destined for bigger and better things....
Good point, it must be making him and DF feel a little uncomfortable especially considering they finished above us last season (even though I think we were better than they were by the end).Actually he kind of has to say that Critch won't be here long, cos Critch is making his own manager look a bit hopeless and that needs justifying!
At this rate, he could do what Dario Grardy (bar his misdemeanours) did for Crewe and have a job for life.I'm under no illusions about the potential for Critchley to go on to better things, so what he's said is hard to disagree with all joking aside. But my gut feeling is that he won't jump ship at the first opportunity, I don't think that's how he operates. He's settled, it's in the north west so presumably convenient for him, and the main reason I think he'll stay for a few years is because his role here isn't just a manager. It's a huge project here right now with the training facility and youth academy development, all of which he will have a big say including planning and design. He has the chance to stamp his mark permanently on this club and he won't get that anywhere else I don't think.
You never know for sure, but I suspect he'll be around for a while yet.
Being Oyston free enables a very different future.Remember when we got to the Prem and we thought it was a chance to build an empire with Holloway at the helm?
That feels a much better prospect under Sadler and Critchley.
Yep, they seem a good match and I think Sadler will recognise Critchley’s worth and offer a longer term contract.Being Oyston free enables a very different future.
You saying he wouldn’t take the chance to manage Southampton in the PL? Of course he would. Only needs one decent season with them like Rodgers had with Swansea and you’re looking at a bigger club showing interest and you’re an established name for many years on big money.I think if liverpool were to come calling we might have an issue, southampton f*** off, sheffield united you are having a f***ing laugh. You would only be going for the financial rewards, any sensible individual with the kind of cpability the NC has, who has got their whole future in front of them would look at a club like southampton and possibly think why risk my career for a pay day today. Look at Grayson, or holloway, Grayson went because it was the club he supported as a kid, an offer difficult to turn down. Im thinking that NC believes blackpool could be a PL team in a couple of years, maybe even sooner. I genuinely believe he could be up there with the peps, Klopps and fergies (The manure version not the posh version) of this world.
even the complete anti critch numpties on this site have had to adjust their POV, or just disapear, can see him here for five years or so and maybe more if we are in the PL, then hes got europe to aim for, maybe a uefa cup in the pool trophy cabinet, or whatever its called now.
Not sure that’s a good fit. England U21s is more of a part-time job without the day-to-day player development that he enjoys and is good at. I think NC wants to create something more permanent. The logical step for NC is England u21. He will progress his career and reputation, without the danger of taking on a ‘big’ club in trouble or on the decline.
backward step that, by a long way.The logical step for NC is England u21. He will progress his career and reputation, without the danger of taking on a ‘big’ club in trouble or on the decline.
Well its worked out very well for Southgate for sure but I also tend to think its not the right step for him and hope he wants to work with Simon Sadler in getting Blackpool promoted in the near future. After that , who knows .The logical step for NC is England u21. He will progress his career and reputation, without the danger of taking on a ‘big’ club in trouble or on the decline.
You don't if you're the manager of Peterborough shitting United'Say a Sheffield United come in, do you say no to that job?'
Yes, you clueless **.
100% agree.'Say a Sheffield United come in, do you say no to that job?'
Yes, you clueless **.
Maybe, and my son shares your view.backward step that, by a long way.
End of next season. When is Critch's contract up to?
He seems a very sensible guy to me. He’ll know that moving to another club won’t necessarily work, even if he’ll be paid more money (potentially). He’s got something good going on here in a club that is growing. We’re not little Blackpool.Sheff United are a big club compared to us of course but yeah, the connection he has, the control he has, the freedom to play out his footballing philosophy, I'd like to think he'd stay. Would say the same for most bigger champ clubs, Stoke, Birmingham etc. One of the yo-yo clubs might tempt him, but otherwise I think we've still got quite a bit of Critch magic to experience before a prem team steals him from us.
I wouldn't like that, it's a massive waste of time for something that might not happen and a list that will change almost weekly. In any case you would like to think that the club are compiling a list of potential candidates in preperation for his departure. Obviously I want him to be here for many years, and actually I think he will want see this project out. There is no harm in being proactive as a club though when it comes to touting his potential replacement.
The thing is, if he moves “up” from here, he encounters the thing that did for Steve Bruce….fans wanting immediate improvement and mega millions spent and instant champions league form and a board that doesn’t quite see it the same way but still wants champions league form anyway so it’s an all round unpleasant experience.I see no issues here, it's said in the right way. A blind man and his dog can see how well Critchley is doing. The difference between now and under the Os is we have a chairman who knows his value. With the new Training Ground and Academy work going on, it is a huge job for Critchley to rebuild our great club. Taking a jump too soon and some chairmen wouldn't have kept faith like Sadler did. His work here is far from done.
Yeah I get what you mean. I would like to think that there are certain people on our radar though. But honestly, I think NC will be with us for quite some time yet. Although he will be appearing on plenty of bookies shortlists from now going forward.I wouldn't like that, it's a massive waste of time for something that might not happen and a list that will change almost weekly.
Blackpool or Peterborough! how dare he.Actually he kind of has to say that Critch won't be here long, cos Critch is making his own manager look a bit hopeless and that needs justifying!
"Critchley is an amazing manager. Too good for a club like Blackpool or Peterborough. He'll be gone soon."

I don’t see him moving to another Championship club as long as we are in the Championship and doing ok. If he starts to feel I t’s all going backwards in three or four years for whatever reason he might use the fresh challenge excuse and join a heritage calibre club Nottingham Forest or something.
First Ballon door winner. Runners up in the old 1st division (now called The Premier League)Blackpool or Peterborough! how dare he.
F*ck Off Peterborough
You ain't got no history,
Six Playoffs, Anglo Italian & FA Cups,
That's what we call history...
I read their forum quite regularly and they are very negative about their prospects, reminds me of Preston fans. Not sure what they expect, for Posh just being in the championship is a great achievement, for us more historically successful clubs it can be the start of something. To be fair to the guy though if we're just comparing where both clubs are currently there's some basis for comparison (similar-ish attendances, though I think they've had a few 7-9k's which we wouldn't be happy with, similar wage bill I would have thought, both just promoted from league one), that won't last long though when we're a decade into our top-two division odyssey and they're back in league one.For that Posh wanker to compare Blackpool with them is ludicrous....
They have no history by comparison.
