Positive if we go down...

If we go down this year we should see some exciting football next year which is more suited to our players level.

Anyone agree?

No, we've already seen some exciting play at this level, just not for the full 90 minutes
So we're capable of it.

To go down would be a disaster. It could take us a long time to get back up again

It's already taking some pretty "big" clubs a long time to get out of that league (Ipswich, Portsmouth, the massive etc), and Sunderland took about 5 seasons I think.

Building a new East stand which would rarely be filled in L1? No thanks.

Sorry King - no insult intended, but that's the theory of someone bordering on the insane!
I do however, agree that the squad is mostly made up of players more suited to playing in L1 .... even with the injuries / suspensions taken into a/c the table doesn't lie.

It would be disappointing, but looking more and more likely, sadly.
We are not good enough to stay up on current form and, even if the Massive, Ipswich and Plymouth attain Championship status, we'd be facing the likes of Portsmouth, Derby, Bolton, Posh and several others who would prove challenging.
After the foundations appeared to be laid when SS assumed ownership, it'd be difficult to accept relegation, but no club has a right to stay up; we've seen that before.

The only positive for me is if we came back up straight away, preferably at Wembley.

As well all, the majority, missed the last one and that and the playoff game is a time when you build the fanbase.

You come up united and together and with a huge feelgood factor.

Seeing as we largely missed out last time it would help us.

But there's absolutely no guarantee of coming back up, so not something we can risk.

There’s this misconception that teams go down they rebuild and it’s exciting and you go straight back up.

Most the time it’s shit and you stay down there.

There are no positives to relegation, as has been posted multiple times above. However the o/p is right about that being the level most of our squad would be comfortable at.

no, not with appleton in charge, the squad would be decimated, and appleton would be asking for patience to get it all together to find adequate players and for fans to realise its a small club in amongst giants like ipswich and bolton.

Don’t talk so stupid. No positives at all. In my opinion the Championship is the best and most competitive in Europe. We want to be part of it. We need to be part of it. This next month will determine whether we stay in it and we need a coach and players who’ll do that.

Hard to get out of League 1 so once you do you need to be do anything you can to stick in the Championship. Including paying off a lame duck Manager.

I think keep Appleton for the 4 years and let him rebuild, we could become a real promotion threat in L1? Think of all the fun days out to Wembley! Could add to my scarf collection.

That's what I mean, Marv might be able to pass to a tangerine shirt, Madine will be outpacing players, will be magic.
