Possible big defeat for Russians

Watching Ch4 News last night and a QC was on who led the prosecution against Milošević, he was saying there is no reason why a War Crine trial against Putin can’t be held in absentia (to quote the legal eagles) - he might hide away in Russia forever but he won’t dare step out of the Country. To be honest when this is all over I doubt he will be able to step outside his luxury dacha - or it will be gotcha!

Nah, treat them correctly and keep the morale high ground. Feed them and send them back to their country once this is all over with. They'll tell their families who the real enemy is.
So they can come back and slaughter thousands of Ukrainians at a later date?

Putin and his cronies will never be able to step foot out of Russia again. They'll be attested at their first attempt. It bugs me that his family.are secure in a luxury bunker on NATO land while he is slaughtering hundreds and thousands of families.

I can't see any way that Ukraine can win this conflict.
Russia has a bigger Army, more weapons etc.
Ukraine won't win without intervention from NATO troops, and that won't happen.
PS. And Putin doesn't give a Sh1t about anyone but himself.

Russia can never win this war either. If they do take the cities they will never stop having to fight a dangerous enemy that will constantly hit them with the latest weapons supplied by the west. In the meantime sanctions will destroy their economy. Fools gold.

I really hope you are right.

NATO chief warned China now as well as telling Putin that Russia can never win a nuclear war. They’re als beefing up nato troops and weapons on the eastern flank to combat any intervention by China. That all sounds pretty serious to me.

I'm not sure it will spill over into NATO territory but it's better to be prepared just incase. There's no doubt Putin will push his luck though and we'll have some pretty close calls.

He doesn't look like he's anywhere close, in military terms, winning in Ukraine so the concept he has the resources, people or even backing to head into any NATO country isn't true. They're getting absolutely battered everywhere. Hence why they are bombing everything.

As it stands it'll take YEARS for them to take Ukraine properly. They don't have the strategy, the willing men or the equipment to occupy Ukraine as they thought they could. Russia have proven over the last 30 days they are no longer a "super power".

Numbers of troops is meaningless unless they are well trained and have the right and adequate equipment. Russia has limitations of both hence why they are struggling on the ground and having to resort to medium to long range precision guided / smart weapons.

I agree, if anything this war has strengthened NATO's position. Its shown the Russian army up for what they are, an absolute joke. Russia are in no position to start a war with NATO in any case, I think I read 80% of Russias troops are now in Ukraine so they don't even have the man power to defend Russia. Add to that all the equipment that have lost, they're fucked and any threat to NATO is empty.

I've read somewhere that the Ukranians have also found an unexploded dart weapon and one of the guided weapons that fly at 6/7 times the speed of sound.

On top of that another report showed a Russian electronic war system that neutralises an enemy's defence systems which has been captured by the Ukrainians.

No doubt these are on there way to, or already with, the Americans for disection, copying, and neutralisation.

Which unfortunately brings the possibility of the Maniac using unconventional or nuclear weapons a step closer.

Always a possibility, especially with a maniac making all the decisions. I'm not sure how many nuclear weapons they'll get to fire though before Russia ceases to exist with retaliation fire.

If these numbers are anywhere near correct the Russian Army is f@cked.

You can multiply any figures for dead soldiers by 3 to include wounded and captured.

Interesting that we don’t know how many Russians have been captured, or where they’re being held

Evil man.
It‘s very easy to focus on the loss of Ukranian lives and forget the poor Russian youngsters being sent straight to their deaths without a clue and without a reason. Evil.
If they’ve any sense Lala once they set foot in Ukraine they should surrender as it’s the only way they won’t return home in body bags.

In desperation the Russians may use chemical weapons with NATO saying there would be a response, now I wonder what that would be as the west would not use them in retaliation, banned under international law.

Not really, just a change of strategy.
Brought on by a failure to succeed in his original strategy.
Its indisputable that phase one included the taking of Kyiv and other major cities that haven’t been captured.

It’s been a disastrous outcome so far for Putin, an abject failure in terms of meeting it’s objectives.

This has to be a scaling down of expectations mainly due to military incompetence on so many levels.

Also hats off to Biden and nato for growing some balls and letting Putin know that the introduction of chemical warfare would provoke a response. The west has cowered so far and allowed itself to be bullied and intimidated through fear of a nuclear war. At least we let it be know that there are lines we wouldn‘t allow to be crossed without retaliation from other nations outside of Ukraine.

I don't see it that way at all.

It very much struck me as "were getting spanked and we need to regroup so we'll say we're focusing on the east". Not the end of the war by any means. But if he thinks they can redeploy to the east to focus in there...? Well. They'll get spanked again.

I'm sorry but this thread comes across as just a bit too jubilant. Whilst correct that ground troops are struggling - and that is great news - Russia has a mountain of missiles and shells that it can release remotely, from Russia and from its navy. Those projectiles will destroy towns, cities and people. There is nothing to be applauded about that.

And no doubt they'll resort to using them as there army is a sack of shit.

I also read today that Ukraine intelligence have said that Putin's closest men are planning on overthrowing him. Take it with a pinch of salt but they must be shaking their heads at what's going on.
