Pre Match Tension

So no doubt many of us suffer with pre match tension/nerves before a game. With the Fleetwood game coming up I was wondering how Pool fans differed with the old PMT? I know mine has always been highest when we are playing Nob End home or away and then Bolton. Personally it doesn't increase for Fleetwood anymore than any other league game. Just wondered how everyone else felt?

Only really get nervous for big games so I’ll be quite relaxed for Saturday. Seasons over, all the pressures on them, very confident we’ll do them again
Fair comment mate. I think they will beat us by a couple of goals. Maybe a revers of last game 3-1. That said ALL the pressure is on them gunning for top 6 and virtually none on us and players also wanting to impress new gaffer. So who knows?

They are just a small team with ‘small man’ syndrome. Not serious rivals can’t feel an ounce of hostility towards them. We can relax and enjoy the game nothing to lose our season is pretty much over now.

I long for the away games with PNE and Burnley where we have history.

Agree with you in the main. I don't have any ill feelings towards the Cods. There just is no history there. I do get some of our younger fans seeing a rivalry as they are unlikely to have experienced a proper derby.

I agree about the games vs Preston, but I would swap Burnley for Bolton tbh. Our rivalry with Burnley seems to have fizzled put a bit. Maybe if we start playing them again it will return?

I can confirm that the six fingered brigade still hate us. Fair play to them that they’ve done what we could have done which is go up, a few wobbles then stay in the top flight and consolidate but they still want to play us and when we next meet the tension will be palpable!

Yes perhaps so I recall after 74 for a while it was full blown with us and Bolton much less so than PNE in my opinion.

I think Bolton really stems from what happened to Kev Ollsen. There was always needle but that incident (awful what happened to Kevin) amplified things and it seems to have picked up over recent years. Nob end will always be the main one imo

I very much hope you guys are right but Fleetwood are flying. Whatever you think of them / their manager, they've had a great 2020 thus far. They do have history of not turning up against us...long may that continue

For a few days before the 200/01 Play Off final I had what felt like a really nasty lump in my throat whereas I couldn't swallow properly - on the way home from Wembley I noticed it had gone! Bizarre what PMT can do to you!

I can sh I t through the eye of a needle before a knobber derby.
Can literally feel sick. I can’t say I actually enjoy the game in a way. Too much at stake.
I think the pain losing is worse than the joy of winning.
For the coda game it’s normal business.
