Prom crash

Old? Drunk? Stupid?

It’s the top end as well where the traffic isn’t as bad. I’ve seen emergency vehicles travelling down the tram lanes due to the rolling roadblock that is the Golden Mile near the Tower

Maybe they thought the trams don’t operate when the illuminations are finished🤡🤡🤡.
Hopefully their insurance company won’t pay for the damage for either the car or the tram and they are made to.
No excuse for that kind of (sic) accident.
Not insured apparently.

Range rover driver so probably stupid.
Think they own the road but not, apparently, tram tracks👊

Not a crash but something similar happened a couple of months ago, opposite the Metropole.

Someone broke down on the sea side of the prom, and decided the best place to leave it would be half on/ off the kerb so traffic could get past.

Unfortunately it blocked the southbound tracks and as I drove on towards Bispham there was one waiting at every stop. God knows how long that took to clear.

I know the guy…PC

He has a box at Bloomfield Road, lives in St Annes and is now in critical care at the Vic…Nice guy, lovely kids….

Must have been a medical emergency…quite shocked at hearing this news
Didn't read this. That's awful. Hope he is going to be ok. I agree looking at the photo that it must have been either a gross malfunction or a medical issue.

Can't believe we called them spaz mobiles & didn't think anything of it 😳
Serviced and refurbished down Mowbray Drive. Used to see them being tested by being driven at speed up and down there.

True story...The scheme used to be managed out of Warbreck Hill offices. I was offered a job on the team but turned it down as there was no company car provided.

I remember them all being out on display (as if it were a car showroom) outside Warbreck site.

That brings back many happy memories of traveling in my mates, we went all over the place
To away game, fishing and to pub
Furtherest we went was Huddersfield last game of seasons and first game attended drunk
All I ever saw was the blue roof, as I was basically laid on the floor
It looks a proper laugh, was almost tempted to buy one for scooting about but Mrs Lytham put a stop to my dreams.

might take a while for Blackpool Transport to get any money, if any off the driver. Hope the tram driver and all passengers.are ok, the Solicitors will be circulating the road traffic victims.

They should take the Range Rover off them and make them drive one of these….

Ah the 1970s, none of that nice SUV with a blue badge milarky. Here’s a public humiliation car for you.
my auntie used to have one and I used to sit in the on the floor to go down the shops with her. Think it had single steering mechanism a bit like a rudder arrangement with a throttle and a brake like a motorbike.
Edit: just watched the vid, maybe memory playing tricks

Gosh. He has a box but no MOT or insurance?
As you aren’t automatically notified when you need an MOT, and your insurance is automatically invalidated when you drive without an MOT, I imagine a lot of people are caught out.

In fact I know for a fact they are.

TBH I dropped a clanger with car insurance, I thought it was auto renewal & was quite competitive so I just left it to renew. I also ignored many emails as I thought they were just touting for business. 4 months later & after a trip to France I got a letter stating I wasn’t insured & had I stopped driving 😬 I realised my cock up & immediately sorted it out. Oh well I got 4 free month’s sort of.

Hope this chap recovers. 🤞
