Pubs not to open again until December

Most landlords/managers cant keep a good pint, places are filthy, food is frozen they dont deserve to be open, ever again. Call them professionals, serving flat pints and lipstick on glasses, most break basic licensing laws every day. They should never be in the trade.

There will be none left. Drinking at home will be the new norm.
Plenty of decent pubs and businesses still doing ok with home deliveries and I'm dealing with them every day.Printer guy called on Friday, had beer delivered (thanks GWW) and heating merchants are doing a service too.

A simple question of working together and supporting each other 👍

Blimey, does this mean Blood won’t be able to arrange the annual AVFTT Christmas Night In when a huge argument about not going out in South Shore or not going out in PLF dominates the pages for a month!

“The other inference that I draw from your question, which is that areas of hospitality will be among the last to exit the lockdown — yes, that is true.”

Everyone has then jumped on that and said xmas.. He didnt say that at all.

I think early July with social distancing limiting the number allowed entrance at one time and strict seating/standing distancing limited to groups of 5 or 10 together at most maybe. All guesswork of course.

If restaurants open earlier than pubs, then a lot of pubs will turn into restaurants. Everyone has to sit at a table and you get a packet of crisps with every pint. 😀
Oddly, that's how Portofino in Lytham got over an 11pm drinks only close. Stayed open until 1 and was rammed with drinkers having a slice of pizza. Fuzz checked it regularly.

Plumbs - I am surprised at home deliveries for pubs because the media covered some of those doing that (such as pints of Guiness delivered to doorstep). These had been stopped from doing so by the Police because the licensing laws don't allow them to do so.
It also seems pointless to me as the purpose of going to the pub is to interact with others. If you can't do that then you might as well buy from the supermarket and serve yourself at home

Just read Germany relaxing the lockdown. Apparently the death toll and infection rate in Germany has increased for the last 5 days sp not sure what the rational is.

If pubs/restaurants aren’t allowed to reopen until December then there won’t be many opening as the businesses will have long gone under.

They’ve done a traffic light lockdown exit saying pubs restaurants etc 15th June
All guesswork i suspect at the moment. Nobody knows

Most landlords or some landlords ?

It's about time the Government and especially the written and broadcast media took a more optimistic approach to the future, and start to give out positive messages, instead of this constant dripping of doom and gloom news that we are being fed daily.

Brett

I prefer realism to either negativity or positivity but you're not wrong, far too many doom mongers about.

Allez

I don't know when pubs will be reopening myself but where did you get this information that it wont be until December ?

Did you get it from another planet ?

Uranus perhaps ?
Not that I bought it, but it's the front page story of the daily comic (The Sun)! It's another 'let depress the country a bit more - even though we've no evidence' story from that paper.

If it was December the country would be on it knees if you might as well call it nearly the whole of the leisure industry(worth over 200 billion a year) where people meet.
Sport would go bump also without fans as to the idea of playing games till December behind closed doors is ludicrous have you ever watched a game behind closed doors(England anybody) nobody would pay for that outside the Prem.

In the Express also.
Every day on here someone is posting shite from newspapers as it is gospel.
They have nothing to write about as there ain't a lot happening away from this terrible virus and have to come up with stories to fill pages and I'll repeat for the 1000 time it's someone's point of view in a paper nothing more.

It's in most papers you buffons. But as usual, lets have a go at Allez for posting something from the national media. Tossers

Yup but they made the mistake of blasting it all over the internet, where its less of helping folk and more of trying to capitalise on the situation.
An interesting issue with one national gas service company today, who on the face of it are offering a generous breakdown call out to NHS workers. That's fine providing its 'no ties' and doesn't take custom away from established traders.

Companies have to survive and at the moment the big companies are in a prime position, but many self employed and smaller entities need to be offered some wiggle room-health position considered

It's pretty simple isn't it. If you slow the rate of infection, you allow for resources to be found. Extra hospitals to be created. They aren't going to release lockdown and then go, oh we've got more infections. It's herd immunity and that's it. There isn't any other way. We cannot be in lockdown until late this year. The world will collapse. People will riot. Release lockdown in stages, encourage social distancing

I certainly wasn't having a go at you Allez, so please calm down buddy and less of the insults please; I am criticising the media for their constant negativity. They print / BBC publish stories that are not based on any evidence just to fill space.

I think lockdown will be with us for some time. Then, the reopening will be staged. I don't know when pubs will reopen but it makes sense for it to be later rather than sooner.
