Pyrotechnics and Banning Orders.

Definitely not a free for all, johnnyb; and everyone's safety is always of paramount importance.
that avoids the point. Let's not beat about the bush.Rangers fans let off numerous flares etc and tbf it was a spectacle. But it's a fact the club stewards and police did nothing about it and the reason for that is obvious too. There were too many Rangers fans in the ground and in those areas that they felt in the interest of their own safety they allowed it to happen. In this case it was easy to identify one individual and so have come down hard on him. The punishment is draconian.

BAB to reply to your points in order:
- I am going to review the specifics
- The Rangers game was not under EFL governance
- I agree not everyone read the new rules which is precisely why I highlighted the issue on FB and Twitter earlier this week, to raise awareness. I don't want any more Blackpool fans to end up getting banning orders for contravening the regs.

Steve is this same EFL that did nothing about the O's extracting money from BFC and actually made Koko the chairman ......that EFL?

I think we need to be bound by commonsense at Blackpool Football Club NOT the EFL clowns.

Ultimately it just needs one of these influencer facebook, twitter or wherever these trends come from to suddenly suggest to the easily led that smuggling candy floss or something into football is the thing to be seen doing.

Candy Floss, too, can be dangerous in the hands of the North Stand massive

Oh let’s go and play in the Scottish league then, or maybe the conference, just so someone else can get permanently mutilated for the sake of some pretty smoke.

We managed well enough without pyros for long enough. Time for children to put their toys away

TKL you missed the commonsense part out. 😉

Might have to dig out the old pigeon scarier or are these banned as well

Plain fact is all clubs must comply with the rules of the competition organiser (EFL in this case) and the EFL is looking for stronger enforcement in some areas this season (esp. pyros, throwing of objects, pitch encroachment). The club has publicised this online and in match day programmes: "Anyone who enters the pitch without permission and those carrying or using smoke bombs or pyros will now receive an automatic club ban." Clubs get monitored and could face sanctions for non-compliance. The club doesn't want to ban fans so the appeal is for everyone to take note and act responsibly at games.

The changes coming into effect from the first league game of the season were widely publicised (in the press, online on SM, on the big screen and in matchday programmes by the club). It's not a case of selecting an easy target and coming down hard on him. The reason I highlighted earlier this week was in an attempt to publicise the situation to those who'd not picked up on it already. And FYI CCTV footage was sent to Rangers for them to act as they see fit.

Ok thanks for that.

What is the lengthen of the “automatic ban” then?

Have BFC decided on 3 years?
If they have it should be looked at as a first offence, as mentioned above, and reduced accordingly for the lad.

I am far more concerned about the referral to the police than the three year ban. This could have serious ramifications on the lads future employment prospects and his life chances, which is unforgiveable in my view.

Some serious pyrotechnics going on now before the kick off in the Man City v Bournemouth game!

It make the 3 year ban look even more bizarre 😳

I’m not sure why it’s upside down and it won’t “rotate” when I edit the pic but you get the idea.

The whole stadium was filled blue smoke one minute before kickoff

It doesn’t say three years
Believe the expectation is 12 months min
Three years is too harsh
