QPR v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 23.02.22

Missing Marv and Keogh need at least one of them back asap I thought Thorniley played well, Casey was comfortable on the ball and both have a good eye for a pass just a bit naive defensively just yet Casey didn't cover himself in glory for their first he needs to be clearing that which is what Marv would have done if he was playing he was also slow to close the cross down for the second but he needed some game time I think he'll come good with a few games under his belt.
Not just Casey to question re- first goal! The whole team just let QPR bully and harass our keeper……..Gary Madine, Richard Keogh and big Marv would not have let that happen……….we are too nice, not street wise and naive.

Gotta put it into perspective, a number of players are league 1 & we'd struggle to create chances against and a QPR 11 normally - in fact smash and grab was the expectation before the game. Agree it was a too defensive set up.
With a QPR 10 behind the behind the ball we had no creativity - zilch. A 2nd choice CB pair and we were mugged late on - albeit and accidental own goal. Survival essential - then it's a build and grow summer. Sounds like some some people have had their belts and shoe laces taken off them .

Lots of retrospective judgements on here but difficult to it may be have to give some credit to a good qpr team. Critch knows our problems as he admitted in has post match interview. We will survive and improve. Disappointing, yes, but we will see better days. UTMP.

Grimshaw needs to concentrate on commanding his area and not getting pushed about QPR were working in this and other teams will too.

Agree with your comments around Critch and that we will survive and improve.

Dont agree with your comments about giving credit to a good QPR team.

Over the course of the season, QPR have done really well to get in the top 6.

But looking at their actual team last night, in the middle of a poor run and without key players, they were there for the beating had we shown some ambition. The fact that we were depleted at the back meant there was even more reason for us to get on the front foot early and push them back, not sit back and invite them on.

I am not sure how he can do that as he had 3 big units front , side & back , which prevented him from coming out to get the ball, this is where his lack of height also hinders him.
However, as per previous posts Keogh , Marv or Madine would ensure they protected their keeper & knocked some of their players out of the way ( all in a legal manner of course)

I’d actually be forgiving of Critch for fielding a defensive style against QPR, but only if he picks an attacking line up against Reading and we give them a bloody good tanking
