R. Keough

He didn't put a foot wrong today, my MotM.

At 35/36 he's absolutely outstanding at this level and I was one of the knobs who doubted him..
I wouldn’t say you were one of the knobs FFT otherwise we’d all be knobs in our thinking, the fact was he was fuckin awful against Cardiff and Coventry and I’m sure he’ll be the first to admit it. But since then he’s been absolutely fantastic and fast becoming a fans favourite, he’s loving playing for The Mighty 👍

I leaned my lesson from thinking "why the hell have we signed Big Marv" in pre-season last year! I was miles off thinking he seemed a liability on every game. He's improved every game!

I've given up second guessing why we are signing players; every decision made by NC et. al. is thoughtful and we sign players for a specific reason (like giving MV an extension etc).

RK is fantastic, he's read the game well and had a great influence on the players around him.

I also would add, that my admiration for how he has such at his profession given what I read in The Guardian article had added to my opinion of him in spades.

I'm glad he's got his own chant and given how easy it is, and how often he does something good, he will hear it!!

He must be having the time of his life now after all the crap he's been through 👍

The biggest transformation in a player I’ve ever seen to be honest.
I’d call it literally finding your feet at a new club tbh, his experience and skill is hard wired. As usual a lot of knee jerk reactions on here.

We have a top team picking the right acquisitions, they can’t get it right every time, but I think we’re well into the plus side at the moment.

Yes he was poor in the first games but he wasn't fully match fit and it also takes time to adjust to a new club with more new players and early season we were worse and playing players out of position.

I must admit, it didn't look good from what we saw but have been really impressed with him now.

His pace still isn't the fastest but positionally he's been on it and uses his vast experience.

Really likeable guy too.

Well done Richard. 👏

My lad thought RK was mom
I thought Jordan Gabriel was excellent today and he was my mom, he did very well against a much taller left winger who drifted in for the high balls (and there were a lot!!) and had a run on him.

RK just showed his wealth of experience, even in judging the bounce of the ball. On one occasion, he allowed the attacker to go for the ball unchallenged because he knew the ball was going to bounce over him. RK stood back a yard, allowed the ball to come to him, and cleared. 👏 👏. He made it look easy.

Honourable mention for my favourite player Marv, some brilliant / important blocks and tackles today.

Gabriel was my MOTM and was magnificent today ...he is back up to full fitness now...Sterling may have to slot in elsewhere...he can play a number of positions to be fair

Keogh just gets better and better and I love the passion him and Gabriel show. The whole team looks to have a great team spirit and a real tangerine passion,

I’m not sure I buy that…his early performances were massively well below competent.
Fairly do’s, but he won most headers against the unweildy galoot Flynn in the Cardiff game, although also making a few uncharacteristic mistakes, but imo you could see his pedigree would come through ultimately, the more games he got under his belt.

He read the game perfectly and played everything out of defence simple today. There are only a few defenders in world football that make defending look effortless and I would put Keough firmly in that company. Outstanding performance. He should have done better with a headed effort from a corner in the second half which looked fairly straight forward, but that's just picking holes. What a signing 👏

He is great, and got a head on everything, but Marvin is something else. Whenever Marv is defending he just somehow makes it look easy and comes out on top. It's just effortless to him. Whether it's a ball through against a pacy striker a header against a target man, whatever, he makes it all look easy.

(Apart from the pass midweek against Reading 😅)

2 mates who came today both picked out Bowler, Gabriel and Marv as standing out.

bowler terrorised sinclair

was saying the same. How a player can go from villain because of his poor performances to cult hero in about six games or so. Incredible turn round.
Incredible indeed. Usually, once the crowd have made up their mind there's never a change from that.

Keogh easily MOTM. Never gave the nobbers' overrated centre forward a look in. I'm happy to admit I have not criticised him once on here. Always thought he was a class player.

Keough was MOM for me but that combo with big Marv is really worth seeing were the strength in the team comes from but fab from all the team .

I doubted him at the start of the season but Keogh has been a rock at the back and I’m genuinely excited by the partnership he’s developing with Ekpiteta! You could see Keogh’s experience and management qualities in the second half when PKE had a small spell and other players listened and acted on his commands namely Husband and Anderson! 🧡
