Rangers in the north

There isn’t the same anti-English sentiment that you get with Celtic fans. Friendlies should always have no segregation in my book…football as it used to be
I think there’s a fair few fans now who are not even aware there was ever a time when there was no segregation in football

As others have said, great, friendly support from the Gers.

Took over the Armfield; one even offered to buy the 3 of us a drink.

All good natured and didn't see any trouble anywhere.

So why for Gods sake was the bloody gate by the NE corner locked after the game?

The stayaway Seasiders missed a great day!
Yep,

Rangers fans were great!!!!

Was in the Armfield Club with Badabing & TAM and in the North where Gers fans were everywhere the atmosphere was “electric” and A & B (& a bit of C) Blocks letting the Pool team know they had “some” support.

Despite being a “Holy Joes Boy” at school, I’d welcome Gers fans back to Bloomers anytime.

I hope town passed without incident last night too, because their behaviour before and during the match was “exemplary”.

Stupid Lancs Police🙄🙄locked the North gate, loads of police at the back of the North earning lots of overtime.

As the three of us followed by a trickle of other Poolsters Walked from The Odeon on to Central Drive into hordes of Gers fans……….not a copper in sight🙄🙄

They weren’t needed anyway, may have been different if it was PNE…….

THESE POLICE WOODEN TOPS COULDN’T ORGANISE
“PISS UP IN A BREWERY”!!!!!!!!

Tbf the rangers fans in the north kept there heads down and didn’t join in with any songs or bouncing. Still think it’s mental having hundreds of away fans in the home ends wearing colours it’s a recipe for disaster when there’s alcohol involved. The fact that there wasn’t an incident today is brilliant.
No one gave a toss about a game against a team not even in our League.

Sales of tickets are always more strict for League games.

No trouble at all. Armfield Club was mobbed with The Bears. Hope they invite us up to Ibrox next pre season.
Ibrox?, loads of our shithouse fans were too scared to rock up yesterday at home FFS.

The atmosphere generated by the Rangers fans was just brilliant and great for the clubs coffers and businesses in Blackpool too, and no bother whatsoever.

Make it an annual event. 👍

Who was scared to go? Seems a silly rumour with no basis, many people just don't go to friendlies.

In nearly 50 years of going I've never been a pre seasoner, for a variety of reasons.

Changed that deliberately last year as I was free to go to SQG, it was a game to help them financially and a chance to see our youth players at last, which I'd been promised myself for a while.

In years gone by I wouldn't have gone yesterday, but glad I did. Not an ounce of trouble in the ground, hope that carried on in the night.

Must have been at least 6k in the areas allocated to them, with a few hundred more buying into home areas. Ithink 6.5k is on the conservative side, but that's £100k if so. Gawd knows what the benefit to the town economy must have been - food, drink places must have taken a week or mores worth over the weekend alone.

The Ultras thing raised a smile, but good on them for caring.

It was sone strange rumour started by the boro fan on here. I can’t imagine anyone being particularly scared…why would they be?
Seems complete bull shit, based on nowt, there was plenty of families with kids there not a hint of worry. Can't look into the minds of everyone but..... It was a friendly ffs.

😂🙄

I know 2 who didn't go not because of anything other than it was a friendly and not everyone is bothered.

Rangers fan said to me it will be good for the coffers.
A lot of Scots live in Blackpool anyway.

they sold 7995 their allocation plus plenty more in home end

I think it was more like 26,000. I was in the the South paddock which was pretty full.
I arrived late to the ground that day and ended up in the scratching shed, it was absolute rammed. I remember I kept away from the back wall just in case it gave way.
That was the biggest crowd I have seen at Bloomfield Rd as I only started going in the 1971/72 season, I missed our brief stay in Div1 the season before.
