Reading Home Opening Day

First season without a season ticket since we went back (mainly for work but also I didn't like Appleton or his football) and remember thinking 'it's going to be a long season' and thank Christ I didn't buy a ST.

Remember we started the game very positive taking the game to them but by half time were looking a bit shakey and ended up clinging on for the 3 points

Messaged my work colleagues at the final whistle and said we will be relegated and we will be the worst side in the division. Wasn't right. But sadly wasn't wrong enough. Hopefully 2023/24 will be a whole lot better for us all!

Said exactly the same to my mate - agree we started strong but the second half was telling.
No creativity, no shots, defensive - all those things Appleton did the previous time (sometimes to hold on to a 0-0 but with a much weaker squad).
Writing was on the wall and it seems incredible to me that they couldn't see it then.

You were spot on bearing in mind Wigan had points deducted.
