Reading v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 27.04.24

Typical Blackpool this season, it was coming, we have been poor since the goal we aren't good enough because of the tactics. There is no way Critchley is going to get sacked although he really really should be. Another season with that boring tvvat in charge sheesh!
It’s all become a massive yawn hasn’t it, although Sadler says the right things and appears to be reasonably passionate about the club, I’m not sure he’s passionate enough for what I expect for my football club that I have loved all my life.

Bit of sad state of affairs really☹️

Echo most of above, we needed to take the game to them. Perfect start, then the brakes get put on and we invite pressure.

Only one person to blame.

Need to come out and win, and who knows, we might get lucky with other results. Unlikely but FFS we need to do our bit.

Yep, 45 mins to go. A lot can happen. It’s all quite tight still.

Let’s attack from the off.
One thing for absolute sure is the half time scores will not remain the same. Our %age chances have gone down to about 5-10% deffo, but it's still a chance.

At any rate, the season was not defined by a set of results from today. We all know what has prevented an easy top 6 finish.

Attacking football and we comfortably take the lead, then true to form we attempt to defend that lead instead of pushing on and they equalize?

Then as usual we don't have a plan B and resort to passing it around at the back..

Like Hubby said, we have a better squad than when we got promoted, and we should never be in this position, we should have been promoted already!

Yes and that’s why the season has been a resounding failure. Lost faith in him he’s not the man, get someone in with some passion.

We've been shite since we scored. He's had all season to coach that defence in that ridiculous formation and they still look like they've just met one another. Critchley out 💩
For those few on this forum who still don’t know how to read a game, Mark here sums up the glaringly obvious. All at sea in defence. Kick, rush and hope, up front. Remember how well our defence was marshalled when a seasoned, top quality, former defender was coaching them? The three amigos aren’t cutting it and need to be cleared out next week. Meanwhile, Charlie has got a lost cause functioning. He may not be the answer to our woes, but it does highlight what a mess we’re currently in on the pitch.

Charlie would be a better manager...that Im sure about

1st half CJ.... a tackle he put the most powder puff challenge in ever... then on edge of area ball was in air and likely he could have got to it... but just watched it. So fecking frustrating

He isn’t helped by the system but he has absolutely no footballing intelligence and looks scared of his own shadow
