Injured or hooked ? Afforded his man far too much space all afternoon.

3 points from 18 since he came in at left back.

Extremely lightweight left side with him and Dale.

I think I’m right in saying we’ve never won when he’s played for us.

Last week we were lacking in height down his wing and were exposed as a consequence. Similar today but had got away with it up to half time. Hooked.

Hamstring apparently, but Husband is our best left back anyway. Keogh Marv, Gabriel and Hubby at the back next game for me, Dougall and Wintle in front, CJ and Bowler wide and Lavery just behind Yates.

Ideally in an ideal reality: Grimshaw, Gabriel Marv, Keogh, Hubby, Garbutt, Stewart, New midfielder, New midfielder, Lavery or Yates, Simms or Madine

I think we'll see Keogh back in against Posh, and Husband at left back. Hopefully Gabriel will be back on the right as that four is our strongest defence. Dougall and Wintle must play in front of them too for us to get something I think, Connolly is not a midfielder.
Waste of a signing. Dale is another who we shouldn't be signing if we can get out of the deal.

Problem for me me with Dale is, we’ve not used him correctly, similar thing happened with Keshi last year. We got Keshi going at the start of this year and he’s one of the first names on the team sheet now.

Dale passes the eye test think he needs to be played more centrally, just behind two strikers. Where most of our midfielders so ironically.

Yes it's a strange one. We have Keogh, Husband, Ekpiteta, Gretarsson and even Casey who can all play centre half, and yet that appears to be where Connolly has normally played for previous clubs. Since we play four at the back, it's an overload of defenders. I hope to god we don't sign another in January!

This season it’s central defenders, last season it was left backs we were inundated with.🤣🤣

Thought Keogh was a weak link early in the season, he had a couple of really good games and then got injured. I was all for him playing from the off today but after he came on we looked really shakey defensively. I like the look of Connolly wouldn't mind seeing him in a pairing with Marv he's just not a midfielder.

I didn’t think Keogh did much wrong today. The fact we came under a lot more pressure after he came on seemed to be more down to issues further up the pitch.

Played and scored against Reading.
Sorry he didn’t. - edit to add I’m on about Reece James. Just checked and he was part of our win against Boro kids in the league cup.

But still I think his confidence is going. To be at rock bottom given that stat and the fact he got pulled at half time. Not buying this ‘hamstring’.

He’s ok but I can’t see him being in the side much beyond this season.

I think James hasn't done much wrong. I agree though that Husband is on balance the best left back we have, though his passing in the second half particularly was dire today. Above all we need a strong uncompromising back four to get through the rest of this tricky first season in the Championship. In Wintle and Douglas we have two decent holding midfielders, even if their passing isn't exactly worldbeating. All our biggest problems are in the "front five", where no-one is performing well enough.

Yes he did.

Reece didn't do a great deal wrong, but hasn't been a world beater either. Doesn't get in the tackles in the same way as husband and garbutt. Thought he had a very good game the first start at left back but not reached those heights again since

At the end of the day it comes down to the lack of quality we have in the team.

The players we have playing for us come from the lower league and whilst some are taking their opportunity (Ekpiteta, Wintle & Gabriel) the rest just aren’t that good no matter how much we big them up

On what basis does CJ get in the side? And stop this obsession with Simms. He plays for a different club.

I don't think Keogh will be here after this season (even though we have an option). I would like to see Grettarson given some game time.
In terms of next match I would start with:

Grimshaw, Gabriel, Ekpiteta, Grettarson, Husband, Dougall, Wintle, Anderson, Bowler, Lavery, Madine (if fit, Yates if not).
Bench - Maxwell, Sterling, Keogh, Yates (CJ if Madine not in contention), Connolly, Carey, Dale.

Once Garbutt and Stewart are fit they would be back in the squad / team for me.
Need someone like Simms and a creative midfielder for January

You an get away with having a couple of average players, but we have too many.
We are in transition mode still so hopefully the team keeps us up and we can build from there

Slightly disagree in that I don't think Husband is better than Garbutt but obviously he isn't available. Husbands use of the ball was terrible yesterday.

CJ 😂and no keshi 😂😂

With the Plethota of lefties we have in our squad, we fielded only two yesterday. This season, Grettarson hasn’t had a kick, and Garbutt’s delivery is sorely missed ( as are his goals ). The team are lop-sided every week, but ( and it’s a big but) yesterday they jacked it in. Not one attempt on goal after Laver’s 4th minute pull back to Carey, whose shot was blocked.. Nothing at all after that. Whoever starts next week is less important than the vital ingredient of FIGHT.

Garbutt wasn't great before his injury, however agree about Husband's use of the ball. The thing about him is he tends to give the ball away in terrible positions - the gilt edged chance for PNE that they really should've scored from was a result of a very poor pass from him.

That is the team I would pick.
As for the Keogh worshippers,
watch the goal yesterday.
Keogh gets into position marking the young Derby lad but when Maxwell pushes the ball onto the post the Derby lad reacts and puts the ball into the net.
Keogh stands there statuesque.
I would bet my house Gretterson would have won the ball and saved the goal.

Where are you getting your stats from? Keogh put a header over the bar from a corner in the second half, plus Lavery shot at the keeper early on in the second half.

Got a lot of good reviews a few weeks back and so presume we must have been winning at the time?
Unfortunately Mr Jame’s only win has come against ‘Boro reserves.

I don’t think this is right (to single out one player) but if you look at when he’s played to when he’s been out of the side it’s not good reading.

Reece James is an excellent prospect. NO, he's not the current answer. I don't see him as a left back either. I think he's a left side of a midfield three man.

However, if Critch is going to persevere with 4-2-2-2 then Reeve is not in my team. It has to be Husband with Anderson ahead of him.

Clarke-Harris is a big unit for Posh so I reckon he'll bring Keogh back in alongside Ekpiteta and put Husband back to full back.
