Reece James

From what I remember, Critchley’s first summer signing of the 21/22 campaign. Has had an excellent season for Sheff Wed this season & looking confident on the ball so far in this PO Final. Let’s hope Critch is keeping tabs on him today. Could be a key player next season.

Didn't realise he was playing!!!

Think Wednesday are less likely to come in for him now they’ve gone up. James is a better option than Thompson who needs a season in league two

There’s a similarity between Thompson and Gabriel. Both athletic and fast but with poor positional awareness.

Critch could develop Thompson like he did the very raw Gabriel when he arrived. Again, if he’d had a season alongside Keogh I think he would have developed quicker?

Agree about selling RJ. There'd be little point in having a player here who didn't want to be.

Anyone know his expected value?

I hope DT will improve in L1. Work on ironing out the individual mistakes at the Lower level

Always thought Reece James looked a good player. I'd be surprised if Wed didn't want to keep him for the Championship.
Is he ours to sell? If so we should take the money, as we dicked him around, so I'm sure he'd prefer Hillsborough to BR.
Definitely our player, maybe Barry Bannan cannot manage championship footie and we can do a straight swap?😁

He looked awful for us in practically every single game.

Pure revisionism. If you've always thought that you've ignored his performances for us. He didn't even look good yesterday.

Love the posts that include a variation of "I've always thought", "as I've said previously", "I've been saying for ages" etc etc etc

He's pushing 30, so no sell on potential for Wednesday, but we might get a small fee for him, maybe £100k?

Thompson is ok with a decent coach he’s an asset. Athletic genuine left footer. Just needs a run of games and a bit of appreciation
when thompson arrived he looked decent, strong, decent left foot, reasonable recovery but he was out of position a lot and made a lot of rash challenges. under critchley who knows.

when they showed the pre-season footage last year the only player for me that looked off the pace was RJ. He didnt look as though he was fit enough for the game, unlike pretty much the rest of the squad who all looked like athletes.

If they do want to buy him then they obviously rate him as a Championship left back. I'd say we put his price at 500k if they actually want him. That's nothing for a Championship player these days and would help our budget out quite a bit.

Considering we have 3 players who can play left back, I don't think we'll want to price ourselves out of him moving on.

Was at Wembley yesterday with Sheffield Wednesday fans, and the common thought is that they would like to sign him, as he knows the team. Apart from the injury that kept him out for a while, he has been a good loan for them. Would not be surprised if we were to receive an offer for him

We'd be mad not to accept, he's surplus to requirements but also we shouldn't stand in the lads way if Wednesday do put a decent bid in.

Doesn't sound like he wants to come back.

“Obviously I’ve got to see what happens and hopefully something can get done, but I’ve enjoyed my time here. It’s been incredible, far more than what I expected was going to happen. I fell in love with the club, the city, everything about it – but I’ll have to see what happens, what plays out over the summer. I’ll be patient. I’ve absolutely loved my time here, and we’re all Wednesday aren’t we?”

I wasn’t impressed by his appearance today at all. Lack of confidence on the ball and too many loose passes/crosses. He came off holding his hamstring area as well so we’re better off with what we’ve got with husband or Thomson for me.
ANY player who has EVER had even the SLIGHTEST hamstring twinge should be avoided at all costs.

He can return to Yorkshire as far as I'm concerned. Saying he loves the club etc. Obviously likes a free and easy ride, which he hopefully wouldn't have if he came back to us.

So we don't want him back. He's really had a fair chance with us and prefers an easy ride.
