Maxwell and Thornily?

I rated Thornily very highly. He has not been given a fair run here. Big mistake giving him away.
I thought Maxwell was captain? Is it down to wages why he has gone?

Exactly JJ and that makes me think if he hasn't been offered the job, why would he have made the choices. Surely its a Managers prerogative?
That's what I've questioned before.

If he is making decisions then isn't involved, he may have got rid of some that a new manager wanted, or kept some they don't want.

If he isn't involved then who is who knows a bit about football and knows the players like a coach does in training etc?

It's all a bit unknown atm.

From the other thread...

No idea if true..

"Dobbie has contributed along with Donnelly and the chief scout. Dobbie isn’t the first choice for the job as it stands."

Great, a good clear out, just what was needed. Now we need to get in some big quality players to bully our way out of this league like Sheff Utd for example. UTMP

No great surprises there, and a clear out saving money on higher earners being released.
Sorry to see GM go, but his injury towards the end of the season meant it would have been a risk.

Has anyone checked in on @td53 btw?

It's possible that we've exercised the option on Matty Virtue to get a fee from Lincoln, where I believe he's well thought of.

Unless we keep Jerry, we could be looking for a new CDM, striker, and tall goalkeeper. Lot's to do but looking forward to the transfer window a little more rather than dreading a repeat of last summer. It's as much about keeping players, Marv and Jerry in particular.

Surprised with keeping CJ, although league 1 is definitely his highest level. Husband not so arsed about keeping after his shambolic performances this season.

Rest, seems fair and not surprised. Dobbie has worked with the squad the most so of course he will have an input, he’s also got the best out of them this season.

The new manager will just have to deal with what they get, like most managers when they takeover a team whether in football or life. It’s unlikely our new manager if he is from outside the club would have watched us much anyway.

Two bits missing.

Contracted new season anyway:
Jordan Gabriel, Sonny Carey, Jerry Yates, Jake Beesley, Marvin Ekpiteta, Dom Thompson, Andy Lyons, Tom Trybull,
Dan Grimshaw, Rob Apter, Brad Holmes, Jake Daniels.

Returning loan players:
Reece James, Owen Dale, Oliver Casey, Doug Tharme.

I hope @voyeur is happy now is all I can say. ☹️

A sad day, but all journeys must come to an end.

I liked Madine, sometimes he was great, other times not as great, but good at what he did in holding up and bringing others into play.

Scored a few memorable goals too.

Who can forget him coming out the sea, up for a laugh.

Great character too.

Really enjoyed his ttv segments with Husband and Keogh.

Will moss Keshi for his ability and also his character too.

Madine and Jerry seemed to have some special bond too.
Sad to see him go

He must have. Sadler isn't going to decide on his own.

Tells me that Dobbie is getting the job this.
If Dobbie was getting the job I think he'd have got it by now.

Remember Sadler always has a better idea and is always the cleverest person in the room.

Maxwell was very good when we got promoted from league one but he’s been very poor for some time now. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The four "contracts coming to an end" lads. We can still offer them a new deal?

With Maxwell gone, I'd like to have kept all four.

One thing that is a concern is that with losing Maxi and Gaz Goals as well as Keshi we are now very much lacking in experienced characters in the dressing room. Hubby is about it and that lis tells me we are crying out for some seasoned professionals who are going to lift the dressing room and also add much needed bite and experience on the training ground and on match days. I think it is going to be a difficult pre season and the sooner we get the manager and director of football in place the better.

I’m not sorry to see Gary go I think we’ve got better in beesley, Kenny’s proven at league one Husbands solid at league one and above Hamilton will excel in that league. Glad we’ve got rid of Keshi, Maxwell,Stewart, briddcutt as none offered nothing I’m happy with that

With us having no manager, I presumed this was an extension of the Muckers list.
To be fair I don't think it needed a too much experience to realise who needed to stay and who needed to go and I think the list is about right. We may still lose a few like the players who were out on loan all season and a couple who had their options taken up maybe looking at a move where we can sell them and make a few quid.

We still have Sir Kenneth. 👍
