Richard Keogn

At least spell his name right.
He's having no more of a mare as the rest of the team.
And that's from someone at the game not shouting at a streaming site.
He's fine at tasks that don't require running. But every member of that Coventry team could get past him with the ball at their feet.

At least he’s been bad enough to warrant not being anywhere near the team for a while, rather than being just bad enough to warrant persevering with.

Everyone knew the pace would have gone, but so has the reading of the game, the tackling and any sort of leadership or being the experienced head. He has been an utter bombscare and time for one of the other 3 centre backs better than him to be given their opportunity.

I am a natural optimist so I am hoping maybe he will be a little bit quicker when fully match fit.
The pessimist in me thinks we have a accident prone aged tortoise playing at centre back who seems to like to shout at his team mates as if it is their fault that he is slower than an arthritic snail. We could have been 4 down at half time and all of them would have been his fault.

Husband is equally as shite

I think it’s unfair to judge Husband whilst he’s got to deal with having Keogh alongside him. Husband’s booking came because Keogh couldn’t deal with a long straight ball and let it bounce. On the halfway line.

it really is absolutely basic stuff Keogh isn’t dealing with. He also gets dragged all over the show.

To be fair, we knew he was finished before we even signed him so this is not news tonight.

Why critchley wasted money on getting him only he knows. would have been a decent signing five years ago!

Shouldn't be blaming any player after that

If you need a scapegoat then its the manager for setting us up to fail

Playing 442 against a side that plays 3421 is suicide especially a side like Coventry who play with 2 10s running at our back four

If i knew all about O'Hare why didn't the Blackpool manager, he had the freedom of Blackpool in the 1st half

We really could have been 4 down after 10 mins

Critchley and his squad are being found out at this level. It's as simple as that.

Agreed - we knew Coventry’s set up and how O’Hare plays before the game but our formation allowed them to run through our midfield. He ran the game the first half and try my could have had a hatful. We really needed a few in midfield to put their foot on the ball or at the very least take O’Hare out of the occasion.
I actually thought Husband had a good game under the circumstances.

I really wanted to give this guy a chance, but I've got serious reservations already. He's either seriously unfit compared to the rest of the squad, or this is the best we're going to see from him. After the two home performances it's plain to see that he's going to be continually stretched and he's having to drop a yard back from the other three when we're holding a line around the edge of the box. I know the liner in the first half was pants, but there was a couple of times he dropped back and hence the flag didn't come up. I seriously hope he gets a rest at Bournemouth and Ekpeteta gets a run out.

Devil face shouldn't be in this team.
Agree he has been dire - however one of the reasons this has been magnified is that Husband and Garbutt have been equally shite. A mixture of them leaving Keogh horribly exposed and also not trusting him enough to give Him the ball and then losing It and putting us under pressure

I agree, the 3-4-2-1 allows you to out number a 4-4-2 all over the pitch. However he sorted it second half, whilst playing 4-4-2 for the majority of it.

I hate criticising players too but for the benefit of the team it has to be said, it has been obvious from each of the 3 games I’ve seen live (Burnley, Cardiff, Coventry) that Keogh is past it! He got skinned every time and looks to be a liability.

With Husband alongside him that is the worst centre back partnership in the Championship and it would struggle in League One.

So in effect the manager has set us up incorrectly two games running now then…

and recruited rather badly it seems…..

Lets face it most people on here made there minds up about Keogh before he kicked a ball along with most of the team he had a shocker for the most part we must have by far the slowest back four in the league ive said from the friendlys and to add to that we left gaping holes in our midfield we look so unbalanced as a team square pegs in round holes everywhere to blame just Keogh is just an easy get out on the plus side we created plenty of chances and should have scored a couple at least.

He wasn’t particularly good a decade ago. If we’d have signed a 35 year old Gary Cahill (obviously wouldn’t happen with wage demands) you’d be getting a quality centre half who couldn’t cut it at the very top anymore, but we’ve got someone who struggled in his prime.

Keogh was a bad signing, end of. Marv should be ahead of him as should Casey. We got rid of Thorniley and got this donkey instead.

The problem is our squad is weaker than last seasons. That should NOT be the case. No right back is unforgivable, our centre backs that have been selected so far are not right, Husband needs someone decent next to him and he is a natural left back.

The main problem is our midfield, we lacked creativity last season apart from Kaikai and Embleton and both of those have gone. The recruitment started off well at the end of the season but has ground to a halt. We need 4 championship standard players in by the end of the transfer window, if we don't then we will be fighting to stay up.

How can we get promoted and end up with a weaker team?

Agree with this completely, defensively we're an absolute shambles, midfield we have nothing and we have no creativity. I wasn't Kaikai's biggest fan and thought we could do better than Embleton but we haven't replaced either of them.
The likes of Hamilton and Anderson simply aren't good enough for this level.

We're in desperate need of quality signings and quickly.

Oh and to reply to the original post, I've never seen anyone as slow as Richard Keogh, makes Ben Burgess look like Usain Bolt.
