RIP Burt Bacharach

An absolute genius, writing deceptively complex yet catchy, hook-laden songs.

Edit - He wrote 73 US Top 40 hits and 52 in the UK, which is just astonishing.
His talent was appreciated by later generations - Noel Gallagher was a huge fan, this is him guesting at a BB concert at the Royal Albert Hall...

RIP Burt 💔
And thank you.

He's walked on by. Great tune best and most radical version was by Isaac Hayes.Who also did a superb take on the classic BB song The Look of Love.

One of my favourite songs of all time - had it on repeat in the car yesterday. RIP

'Rain drops keep falling on my head'.
My favourite.
Who can ever forget 'Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid'. Paul Newman (another favourite) riding the bike with
Katherine Ross on the handlebars?
Fantastic film.
RIP to a great song writer.

Half the World Away is just This Guy re-done. Something like their tour manager had it in their head for weeks and Noel started playing it in his down time, and decided he wanted to use the chords. The piano that comes in half way through the tune is literally the intro from This Guy.

I do not like Oasis, but that tune has always been one of my favorites ever and I couldn’t put my finger on why. As a big Burt fan it was nice to find out why I loved it so much a couple of years ago :)
