RIP Eddie Large

Yeh just seen that ,bless, remember seeing him before a game many years ago in The Tangerine Club, big Citeh fan.

yep, RIP.

Little and Large were of a generation of decades ago but I've no problem admitting I quite enjoyed them and their Saturday night shows. Think they did some very good sketches just in the way other double acts of years gone by did.

Met him once in the bar @ Maine Road, back in the day - seemed a really nice, unpretentious bloke, just enjoying a drink with other fans. RIP.

Sad yes, but like a lot of “turns” in the 70’s they were Entertainment for the masses, working men’s club status.

RIP
Blood loads of comedy from back then looks crap now but people enjoyed it at the time.
In 30 years Ant & Dec will likely not be viewed kindly
Still better than Mrs Browns Boys though 👍

Lads, I ain’t a Snowie by a long long good stretch BUT you can’t keep saying but it was ok “at the time”....or you condone the slavery of Black people “at the time” or women not having the vote “at the time” ......their ”comedy” was at best unfunny and at worst truly dreadful in term of racism and sexism etc...aint Blaming em, just saying it was awful and thank Fuck that unfunny shite is long since finished

Ant and Dec aren’t a comedy act. Well they are but they are a multi faceted, multi skilled entertainment phenomenon ....not some monochrome, anachronistic, take my mother in law, what about them Pakis, the Geeeermans bombed our ‘Ouse and we ’ate all foreigners style joke act from 40/50 years ago....you lads need to reboot

Each to our own Blood.

I enjoyed them and thought they did some good stuff and that's all that matters. They'll be happy that they put a few smiles on peoples places.

If that low level stuff was your bag then that’s cool by me 20s*

*surely he wont fall for this??😉

I grew up watching them and enjoyed some of their stuff

I can take on board what Blood is saying but it wasn’t promoting slavery it was just the times

Thankfully things have changed and certain things aren’t acceptable now

I have met Syd a few times at functions and he is a real genuine guy who still does his bit for charitable causes

Little and Large did well in Blackpool with sell outs at the north Pier if I remember correctly

RIP Eddie

All art is contextual. Some of it transcends that context. Some of it doesn't.

It's like an old box of tapes or records from when you were 15. At the time you loved them, but then, now, a lot of them sound crap and a few still sound electric.

I think 'of its time' is a fair defence. It doesn't mean it's not shite now though. It's only in a few years time when you really can tell if something's proper good or not.
