Rogers confirmed

Is he very right footed? If the idea is to play 4-2-3-1 with Rogers on left, Poveda in middle and Bowler on right I’d be worried about lack of width. A key part of inverted wingers is having the full back willing to get forward to drag the opposition out of position for the wide forward to drive into. Do we have these full backs? Our full backs also seem to be playing somewhat conservatively given our poor defensive record.

I’m not at all convinced that Yates could play upfront alone in such a line up. What does this mean for his future?

It feels like such signings (and the sale of Wright) herald the end of the 4-3-3 with 2 8s which is a step in the right direction.

He is a player with some pedigree and a step up from Corbeanu. Can see him doing well but doubts persist about Appleton’s ability to select a combination that gets the best out of everyone.
