Rogers confirmed

Decent signing. I heard that we had an option to sign Corbeanu. I hope we also have an option to sign Rogers incase he does really well. If we do stay up and all these loan players go back it will be a massive summer rebuild.

You really are a right ray of sunshine aren’t you !

We need to be realistic on where we are at. The time for positivity was in August before a ball was kicked. That has been shattered and we are left with a very poor looking squad. We can't defend and we create very little. A perfect recipe for relegation. Another loan signing who didn't make the grade at Bournemouth might be a step in the right direction but we need massive steps.

If we sign Bowler or a quality permanent centre half and midfielder, then I will join forces and celebrate positivity.

You can't cancel the contract of an injured player. The contracts can play out and not be renewed, but we need to sit tight and let time do that job.
Clubs can if it's by mutual consent. That would be the best option for us but maybe not the player (Stewart etc).

Welcome aboard Morgan. On the face of it, looks a good signing, he has played men's football for a while and done well, clearly has ability, good on the ball and a bit of physicality so hope he does the business. 👍

At the time, that was correct. I feel like my knowledge of football should be more frequently shared hence why posting now.

You might think it's negative, I just think it's being realistic. Please tell me anything I have said that is wrong? If you want to believe he is going to be a superstar and help us survive, then that is up to you and I admire the positivity. I just can't think like that I am afraid.
Completely agree with ATG here he’s not slagging anyone off but just being cautious.
While we all should be welcoming any new signing by the club we can’t judge him till he’s played half a dozen games (given Appleton plays him of course)
He’s a young lad just 20 years old who seemed to play well in league one but yet has struggled in the championship.
Let’s just hope he hits the ground running because any goals he manages to score is going to help us tremendously over the next few months.
Just need someone at the other end of the park now to prevent them going in at our end and someone in the middle. 🙄

I will say one thing positive. It might be a step up from Beesley at right wing.

Is he not going to be competing with Josh Bowler (if signs) on the right?

Hull said the same about Bowler. Players improve. Give the kid a chance.
Can’t compare really. Bowler became a permanent signing. Plus I was looking at it historically, I am looking at the crap that has come in this season. Therefore, I will wait before saying what a great signing this is.

Rogers is a right footed player who prefers to play on the left and cut in. Bowler is left footed and prefers to play on the right so should complement each other. especially with Poveda in the No 10 role.

Why? It's the truth most likely. We need permanent quality players that give us some identity and not a revolving loan door. Hopefully it's just the start and more long term signings can also be added. Certainly not going to get carried away with this.
You haven’t a clue. Go and wobble your head.

1metre 92cms. A big lad then.

And, yes, as posted earlier, I like the idea of him on the left, cutting in to shoot with Josh on the right doing the same.

Half a season to come good. Midfield anchor next please.

I know those goals weren't against top class opposition, but he can certainly put the ball in the net.
Looking forward to his arrival.

There was talk in the Summer when we were in for Rogers that we would have the option to buy him on the cheap. Think it came from Nixon.

Poveda through the middle, Bowler (🤞) and this lad on either wing. Wouldn't be too shabby that.

Let's see how the rest of the window shapes up, hopefully we get some big midfield general to bridge our defence and attack.
If we had an actual goal machine we could be in business!

Jerry renaissance hopefully.

You always were a miserable sod Danny.

Rogers, Bowler, a strong CM and CB plus Lyon’s and I think that would be an excellent window. Patino et al. Need a chief in midfield to give them freedom and help them shine. Same goes for a strong CB who can link with the midfield and be strong in defence could be the pieces of the puzzle to make things click and steer us away from the bottom 3 and if the above comes to fruition id be confident that we will. I’d also want to keep Yates

That front 4 (Rogers, Bowler, Yates and Poveda in the 10 role) is far better than anyone in the bottom 6

I’d be surprised if we didn’t see both Rogers and Lyon’s play against Forest even if it’s a cameo. Get some minutes in before Watford

I suppose you think we are wasting our time with Josh Bowler as well.

I am sure Rogers will have spoken to Fiorini as they will know each other from Man City and if there was any truth in the rumour that Appleton had lost the dressing room or indeed being on borrowed time from the BFC board then Rogers probably wouldn’t have come to Blackpool on loan. I am equally sure that Bowler will still keep in touch with mates in the Pool squad and if he also joins Pool on loan then that is another endorsement for Appleton. Hopefully the ongoing Appleton split, between the different factions on AVFTT, and the toxic atmosphere at Pool home and away games will continue to have no affect on good players joining the Club In this transfer window.

He was exceptional in L1 with Lincoln but didn't really make much of an impact in Bournemouth's Championship season. Hopefully he can hit the ground running. The way I see it, is I think he's an upgrade on Corbeanu. A good start to our January rebuild.
Played in a friendly between City and Girona on 17 Dec, along with De Bruyne, Haaland and Mahrez. Ok his marking for the game wasnt so high but was selected to play .

Another youngster trying to prove his worth at our expense. We have enough of them.
Yes, I'm tempted to agree ATG. January in a relegation fight is not the time to be developing youngsters. So, why has this happened? How about this from Appleton...
"The fact he knows how I want to play and how I do things is a bonus.”
I don't think so, I think it's at the core of your thinking Mr A.

I tell you what A terse grin, sometimes its better to keep your trap shut and let people think you're a 🛎🔚, rather than posting and providing beyond reasonable doubt that you are.
Had you written 'proving' rather than 'providing' (I'm sure you meant to), you would have paraphrased Abraham Lincoln rather well.

Soz, I forgot it was a fact that Morgan Rogers is going to be a superstar and the Bournemouth fans just couldn't spot the talent. I am surprised we aren't doing a big unveil at Bloomfield similar to Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
Miserable **. 😆

What do you do for laughs? Or is that past_tense_grin?

People need to take a reality pill and realise Rogers not being at Bournemouth's level is a -very- different proposition from him not being at our level. If he lit up L1, then struggled to get into a top Championship side with lots of competition for places, it would seem there's a very good chance he's going to prosper in a lower Championship side where every position is up for grabs.

You lot don’t know the difference being negativity and realism. You’d think we were fighting for promotion and not survival judging by how giddy some are getting. If Bowler signs, then that is giddy material but at the moment we need a lot more than another youngster getting experience.

What do I do for laughs? I like watching Sky Arts with a strong whisky.

Giddy. Friggin nobody is giddy. Your imagination.

Relative to your state of mind it may appear giddy. Granted. 😉

For black comedy you can’t beat reading Appletons team sheets.

I'm impressed with the little I've seen of him. He has a languid, fluid style of play that takes him past defenders and his finishing looks good.

Appleton said:

“Morgan is a player I know very well from the time I worked with him at Lincoln. The quality that he’s got will be there for everybody to see. He’s got a physical presence, he scores goals and he gets assists. The fact he knows how I want to play and how I do things is a bonus.”

At least that's one player in the squad who does.

Wasn't Bridcutt at Lincoln too?
