Just reading about the injuries to Kouassi and Lavery, I was thinking back to a time before 2000 (but will use the 2000/01 season as an example). Is it me or bar really serious injuries, did players pick up way fewer knocks. I look at our team that beat Orient 4-2 and wasn't that basically the team for that season bar a few changes along the way?

Pretty much. Ian Hughes lost his place to Danny Shittu in the second half of the season but he was contractually barred from playing in the play-offs.

Perhaps they played through minor niggles back then because they were mollycoddled by a whole surfeit of medical staff
