Rosenior to meet Rooney

We don't know if its true or whats to be gained, maybe he's already accepted behind the scenes and just wanted to see Wayne first before it's announced. I don't know, doesn't make much sense. The club would want it announced ASAP.
He will just say his goodbye to the people he worked with then he will start crying
and rooney will give him a man hug
Then on the lash with the players and someone will get arrested it is what it is

Any of which he could do after accepting the job officially.... 😏

It might be a professional courtesy.

It might also be an opportunity to ask about the availability of Mr Assistant no.2 and players X, Y & Z. 😁

I’m quite sure he will have had a discussion with Rooney when we asked permission to interview him, and then again after the interview. To want to speak to him now doesn’t make sense to me, and how long does it take? “Hi boss, I’ve decided to take the Blackpool job” “ok Liam, good luck, I’m sure you’ll do well, of course I’m sorry to see you go, let’s keep in touch”

Maybe as a decent human being he wants to sit down with his boss and go over why he’s made the decision in person?

It is a common professional courtesy. You plan to take new job you tell your current boss first and face to face. Reflects well on Rosenior I think. Doing things the right way.
It’s football, and footballers, sorry I’m not buying that. Integrity, honesty and decency mentioned in the same breath as footballers. After what NC has done. Nope.

Agree but there still might be some matters to talk about, particularly if he would like to bring some Derby staff with him.

This may be Rosenior having 2nd thoughts, people seem to forget interviews work both ways. Being offered the jobs does not mean he will take the job.

Derbyshire Live says:

"Derby County assistant Liam Rosenior will speak to boss Wayne Rooney before becoming the new manager of Blackpool.

"Rosenior will be the next Blackpool manager and an announcement is due soon, but it has been reported that the former full-back wants to speak to Rooney before leaving. It is unclear what Rosenior wants to get out of a conversation with Rooney, but it is unlikely he will have his mind changed as the move to Blackpool seems all but done and dusted."

So Rosenior becoming manager doesn't sound dependent on his conversation with Rooney, based on that. Perhaps the announcement is awaiting other details to be finalised. Like contract details, possibly for staff he wants to bring in. And in the meantime he just wants a goodbye chat with Rooney.

Maybe somebody else has asked to interview him or made him an offer. For all we know somebody like Rovers could be talking to him and he is buying a bit of time.

I don’t get it, betting suspended, itk reporters saying it’s a done deal, he could do a zoom meeting with Rooney, so wha the problem? It surely has to be with either compensation and difficulty dealing with the administrators, or sor out some minor issues with the contract. I’m beginning to feel nervous.

Maybe he's asking Wayne if he wants to be his number 2 at Blackpool when Derby finally go tits up
Maybe it's to say, 'Wayne, it was me who scratched your car last week. Soz like'.
Then he does a runner after stealing all the best pens from the office.

I don‘t think there is an issue at all. We were told the process could take 3 weeks. He may have asked the board to give him a few days or a week to say his goodbyes face to face to those he feels he needs to before it is officially announced.
I think we just need to be a bit patient here and stop over-analysing.

Poss trying to speak to critchley to ask about the job - dodgy phone signal unless it’s Gerrard

You hope after betting a serious amount of money.Personally think he is cherry picking Derby squad, or at least putting a plan in place.

It is pretty odd…

Logically I’d say that it sounds like Rooney has asked to see him, before he’s finalised and he feels obliged to go along with the request.

And on that basis you’d assume Rooney wants to try and persuade him to stay. I mean you don’t want a meeting to kiss each other goodbye do you ?

I think we could be in the lap of the gods right now potentially 😮

You seem to get nervous about most things BFC related!!

It’s a nervous time, waiting for a manager, training starting in a couple of days, potential exits for Bowler, rumours about Eck and Gabriel, recruitment needed especially in midfield. Yes I’m nervous, just want us to get on with it.

It's been less than 2 weeks to make one of the biggest decisions a club can make. We have targets lined up and will have a decent squad of players turning up for pre-season regardless. Chill.

Sort of surprised me if he’s as good as people wreckon why hasn’t he been approached or linked with any clubs besides us

Agree with you to a point - some of the posts on here are bordering on hysteria. However, this is in danger of becoming the worst kept secret in the world - Skybet have stopped taking bets and Talksport (allegedly) have already come out and said that Rosenior is a big loss to Derby.

I think we are all 99.9% sure we have our man, there could be lots of good reasons why we are waiting to announce it. It won't be holding up transfers, no doubt those would have been discussed as part of the final interview or one of the first topics after he accepted the role. I do suspect that the legalities may be a little more drawn out because of Derby's current plight.
