Running Shoes help!

Seeing as swimming is sunk, walking footie is at a standstill, I'm upping my one run a week up to two or three a week to cover the missing sessions.

(No I don't spit on the pavement, no I don't drive to my exercise route, yes I do keep six feet away from pedestrians πŸ‘πŸ»)

So I now need to buy some new trainers as my Adidas ADIPRENE heels are goosed, and I find them a bit heavy now.
I will have to them buy online without trying them on, so I'm looking for recommendations.

I'm 60, which coincidenctly is about my 10k time now, so it's more a case of jogging about 10 miles a week, and hoping not to damage my old creaky joints!

I normally do some interval work(Fartlek) on treadmill, and I already have some lightweight Nike trainers for that type of exceriseπŸ‘πŸ»

Any suggestions, under Β£100?

Six feet isn't two metres. Social pariahπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

I recently got some ASICS gel kenan from mandmdirect. Absolutely awesome. Ridiculously low prices too, reduced to under 30 quid.
I'be been trying to get healthier and lost a lot of weight, but jogging was really hurting my knees. These trainers are a revelation, seriously.

I suffer from the same problem, the slower my pace gets, the more issues I have with my knees and ankles.

Do these 'ASICS gel kenan' resolve that pain?

Yes.
Any of the ASICS gel range would be good. But if you're a more serious runner, you might want a more substantial style, these are quite minimalist.

I got a prime account at mandmdirect - pay a tenner and you get a years free next day delivery. Bought converse trainers for the wife too. They have done really good prices on trainers.

Slowly stepping up exercise myself but just to say I'd vouch for M and M.

They may appear tacky and that was what I thought before using them but got a few bits and pieces from them, they are dirt cheap and quickly sorted a problem I had with a return.

To be honest, they had misplaced my returns at their end and it was their fault in the first place but they quickly resolved the issue.

Cheers, I'll have a look into that, it sounds promising πŸ‘πŸ»

60 minutes for 10k at your age is a great time. You must be in cracking shape. I'm hovering around 56 mins and I'm almost 40 in half decent shape. Can comfortablyish run halves in around 2 hours. I'm using Mizuno Waveknit R2 and a pair of Saucony at the moment. The mizunos were very comfortable and cushioned but a little too heavy at the back as they have very strong ankle support. They have served me well for over 600 km of runs including 1 FM. The saucony are cushioned very well with their everun system, very light, but the ones I got are a little too wide, so I don't wear them so often.
