Russian military convoy

Looks like it has taken a bit of a beating.

The entire thing has been a disaster.

It's been a disaster for the Russian Military - It's showing what a myth it is that they are a powerful force. They lack strategic intelligence and the will power of it's own army has major question marks over it. They're levelling parts of Ukraine, a symptomatic sign that things are not going their way and it's the only path they can take.

It's been a disaster for the Russian people, economy in the mud and they are seeing mass protests across the country, people arrested for looking at protests let alone taking part. 90% of major global brands leaving, from food through to clothing through to social media blocking.

It's naturally a disaster for the Ukrainian people who have lost their homes and loved ones and will spend the next 20 years rebuilding their country/economy.

No one will win this war. Russia will level Ukraine, claim victory and head back north knowing they've got to replace billions of pounds worth of equipment.

Russia have lost their status as a super power, not only economically but in military terms. Absolute shambles across the board.

And spend billions, if not trillions, in trying to rebuild their economy. Not to mention their status as pariahs on the world stage. You're right, nobody wins this war but it's been a disaster and a huge mistake by Putin.

That’s almost as beautiful as some of those Ukrainian women!

Expensive exercise when you’re facing low cost Molotov cocktails that can do that (oh and western anti tank weapons….)

It's destruction on a mammoth scale, levelling cities and towns by the Russian Military is a common theme, ie Chechen war, Grozny completed raised to the ground, assisting Assad and leaving Aleppo in ruins along with other cities in Syria and in the invasion of Georgia in 2008 lasting just 5 days they managed to make 35,000 homeless from their bombings and shelling.
Will Russia ever return to a Gorbachev glasnost type era, it seems the complete opposite while Putin is in control, he witnessed the lack of willpower from the west when Georgia decided it wanted to join NATO a similar scenario to the present day Ukraine crisis, so in he went, the beginning of taking Russia back towards old Soviet times.
They are not getting their own way in Ukraine, Kurt certainly the resistance from the Ukrainian forces has been exceptional, heroic and the effort from the women with their children getting to safety under unbelievably harsh conditions is magnificant.
I read this morning that there could be more than 100,000 orphan children who need to get to safety from institutions throughout the country,
If that is the case then every effort must be made to lead them to safety and brought up at the meetings taking place between officials of Russia/Ukraine.

Feel the most bad for the Ukraine people obviously, but some of the Russian military who realised they had been sent into a shitshow on false pretences, under equipped and poorly planned. Some almost sent to their deaths. Feel a bit bad for some of them too.

Same for a lot of the Russian people now suffering because of those at the top and their mad decisions.

However, how some can still be taking orders to indiscriminately bomb civilian sites etc make me lose that sympathy with the rest of them, although may be under threat if orders aren't followed..

Has anyone seen these though...

Your wrong about the protests ,hardly anyone is protesting because of the fear of 15 years in prison and most Russians believe that what the state tells them and are happy with what's going on.

Unfortunately the convoy is 40 miles long
But it’s been travelling forward on a very narrow front which minimises its power. So the Ukrainians have been effective in holding it up. All the time it sits there the Russians consume food and fuel. Only recently has it been spreading out. The next few days to a week will be crucial.

The biggest problem is that the military generals and other numpties will only tell Putin what he wants to hear without fear of retribution. This has been an absolute clusterfuck of a disastrous military invasion which will take decades for Russia to recover from, doubt it will in my lifetime!

Russia has always treated it's troops as cannon fodder.......now they want to bring in mercenaries of dubious back ground so they can't be traced.

Is it a 'huge mistake by Putin'?
How old is he? He might just want to go out with a BANG.
He's only interested in his own life style, which hopefully won't be for long now.

One former US General says that the US could supply their forces in the Iraq desert with lobster on a Sunday but the Russians can’t supply their troops with ration packs(MREs) 50 kms from their own border!

The convoy and the routes into Kyiv are all blocked and secured now. 🇺🇦

The fact the Ukrainians are putting up such a fight may be their downfall sadly.

The next stage in the Russian play book is 'escalate to de-escalate' which involves battlefield nuclear weapons, which they have obviously never needed to use before.

Then we hold our breath!

I doubt that will happen.

There will be a peace deal first. Putin has f2cked up massively so he needs a way out to save face while murdering civilians.
