Yep 1 goal in 13 appearances he's had more yellow cards!
He's not very quick or skilful for a striker and without those two attributes what's he got for his size?
Needs to put on some weight and get in the gym wasn't impressed last night.

He was unlucky with one shot that went under keeper but hit a defender sliding in!, bar that I certainly wasn't impressed, but was only one game.

Maybe he is one of the players that make the impact coming off the bench.

Or just maybe Critchley and a few others on here were right. He's not good enough now and never was.

This is an interesting one, but he still appears to hold down a place most weeks in a team that is clearly above us in the league, so he must be doing something right. Time will tell, this is a long season, but the better he plays can only be in our favour as he is OUR player at the end of the season. With remote working and the pub closed I don't get to speak to the Plymouth supporters as I would normally do.

That's not right actually mate. He has only played in the last couple of games. I thought he might have been injured because he wasnt getting played for quite a few games.

With his goal scoring at the end of last season for Plymouth and our lack of decent strikers after losing Gnando I thought he should at least be given a chance for us this season and said so on here but last night he showed nothing though of course you can`t judge anyone on 45 minutes.

Maybe he and Yates who is as yet unproven for us are both much more effective in League 2 than in League 1.Time will tell.

Did we not pay similar fees for the two of them? I was pretty damning about him last season before he went out on loan. What I saw in a Pool shirt was an underweight striker that didn't seem to get involved much in games and didn't make those killer runs that can lead to chances.
I did however see a You Tube video where he looked like Sergio Aguero

Been a very poor signing, especially when you consider he was one of the first we actually paid a fee for.

Watched him closely last night , he showed very little and very similiar to what we saw from him in tangerine.

Sidenote , i didnt think Plymouth or Pompey looked like top half sides last night .

He has got a bit of pace but he isnt the most composed in front of goal..I dont think he was up to scratch but as I have said many times I would have got rid of the lot from last season. My bugbear is that we loaned him to a club in the same division which I think is a mistake. We should have looked at their squad and swapped him for one of their better players if they couldnt afford a fee. They have two or three who look decent at this level and we could have made a cash plus Hardie bid if he wasnt part of our plans. I predict he will go on a free at the end of the season which is poor business on our part.

I think we got a loan fee for him.

I'd say about Hardie is that he didn't fit into the system that Critchley wanted to play at the START of the season so he was allowed to go back to Plymouth on loan. I think Hardie needs to play off a bigger player. He can't be the lone middle man in a front three. I also think Critchley has had to re-evaluate how he sets his team up and the way we play now is more suited to Hardies. Is he good enough in this system? I don't know. i suspect that Critchley would rather go forward with some-one else than go back to Hardie.

Hardie was messed about here to some extent at least, he was signed and then wasn't wanted anyway, so poor recruitment at best, and he was keen to go out and play for a manager who wanted him and then he was keen to stay there. There's little evidence that we have missed out on very much. And it sounds like Yates is a big character with a very positive dressing room influence. He's even managed to rekindle Madine's enthusiasm, it's clear to see, for which he deserves an award probably. 😙

A front two of Yates and Madine wasn't my 'preferred option', but I will be very happy if they form a partnership that plays with real enthusiasm and determination and actually gets stuck into the opposition. Yates has done that from the off, and it's rubbing off on Madine, which I never expected. If they can start to score more regularly, against better opposition, it will make a hell of a difference. And hopefully the more mobile players like Kaikai, Woodburn and CJ will benefit from space and decent possession and give us that variety in attack that is hard to defend against. It's still a work in progress, mind you, and we still haven't yet looked particularly potent up front. I'm a believer in patience though, time will bring the parts together, and an enthusiastic Madine is like a new signing, to me at least. 🙃 And, now I think of it, Kaikai also seems to have re-found his mojo - maybe Yates has got everyone fired up again. If so, he's a good signing for that fact alone. Smells like team spirit.

I work with an Argyle fan and he said that Hardie hasn't been great this season. Was awesome for them last season but thinks the step up may be just too big for him right now. Said he is obviously trying, but has missed a few big chances for them and has been frustrating. Looks like it was the right decision to send him out on loan, even though I was one of the people that moaned about it.

Hardie's been playing alright recently, just seemed to lack a bit of confidence in front of goal (has missed a couple of easy chances), hopefully this'll get the monkey off his back & the goals will come back a rolling in !😀
