Not sure if this has already been posted but was told today that Sadler has got rid of Phil Horner, who has been physio for the last 20 years.

One of the analysts and the secretary have also gone.

Wonder if he is cutting costs due to coronavirus?

Steve Edwards went a while back
His replacement has been appointed
Didn’t realise Phil H had gone
This isn’t cost cutting

Well it would seem to me that the two posts are ones that are still required at the club, so it may just be a question of people moving on, rather than cost cutting. That happens all the time in organisations. Perhaps after 20 years Phil Horner will be concentrating on his own private business prior to retiring, although that must be very quiet in the lockdown?

I'm confused (easily done) has Phil Horner left the club or not?
He does have a private practice in St Annes,; I've had an NHS scan at the business in the same building.
If he's left - good look Phil and you did well to tolerate working throughout the Oyston ownership!

Sounds like Phil has decided to leave.
Had a good chat with him once on the way down to Swansea and he is a really nice bloke.
Always a shame to lose someone who is part of the furniture but wish him all the best.

Sounds like Phil has decided to leave.

Sounds like it was written to use a lot of words to completely fail to answer the key question of whether he was jumped or pushed, and what the vision will be going forward. Seems to be a talent of the current BFC leadership ...

Sad to see him go, especially for those of us archaic enough to remember him as a player ...unforgettable winner against a promotion-chasing West Brom team in about ‘92?

Ooh Phil Orner....ooh Phil Orner!!

good luck to him. He has all the top physio qualifications so unless Critch wants’a mate in’ then probable that he has left of his own accord.

Sad to see him go, have always chanted Ooh Phil Horner when he's been called upon on matchdays. Hopefully it's an amicable decision.

Blackpool Football Club can announce that Physiotherapist Phil Horner is to leave his role this summer.

The former Seasiders’ player, who made more than 200 appearances in tangerine, has spent the best part of 20 years looking after the medical needs of the Club’s professionals and rehabilitating them back to fitness.

During that time, Phil has also been on the backroom staff for four play-off promotions, adding to the previous one he achieved as a player in 1992.

Phil Horner said:

“I have a big affiliation with Blackpool after the length of time I’ve been here, and that will always be the case. I have so many fantastic memories and have worked with some very good managers, coaches, players and people.

"I think now is a good time for a change, though. I’m planning to do a bit more private physiotherapy at the clinic and also get more of a work-life balance.

"The Club remains in great hands under the ownership of Simon Sadler and I’d like to wish him, CEO Ben Mansford, Head Coach Neil Critchley and everybody connected with Blackpool the very best of success for the future. I will always want the Club to prosper.”

Owner Simon Sadler said:

“Phil has given fantastic service to Blackpool Football Club, both as a player and as a physiotherapist. He’s been part of some very successful times in this Club’s history and can rightly look back on his achievements with pride.

“In his role as physio, Phil has displayed incredible dedication and commitment to the health, fitness and wellbeing of our professionals, and I know everybody will join us in thanking him for his considerable contribution and wishing him every success for the future. He will always be welcome back here at Bloomfield Road.”
