Sadler ...

Bad as it's been in 40 years?.

I remember the last home game I went to before I moved to the US was against Wrexham in late 2003. Pretty sure Colin Hendry was in charge, there was about 4000 there, no atmosphere at all apart from a few kids behind me making monkey noises and shouting "spearchucker" every time a black Wrexham player got the ball. For those of us who started going in the 80s/90s even one season at this level felt impossible. I honestly thought it would never happen in my lifetime.

The club was in a coma and had been for decades bar that one season where we gave it a go alledgedly cause Oyston wanted some good PR during his trial.

Its not even as bad as it was during Graysons second tenure.

Clearly though the season has been incredibly disappointing and if we really do have ambitions of being a perennial championship club we need big changes.
People love to remember back and compare fondly, forgetting massive improvements made and making out the

Sasler and Co have improved a lot and will continue to.

Some of the decisions for managers have been very poor and tickets imo has not been right.

If Simon was reading this I'd say please try and build the fanbase up. Let's go for it with a lower priced strategy and fill the stadium, positive manager appointment and give ourselves the best chance with a bouncing Bloomfield road.

When he got us promoted two years ago he was one of our own. Mansford was the CEO we always wanted.

When they kept us in the Championship last season it was a platform to establish ourselves and push on to the Prem. He was one of our own.

One year later we are going down in a season where we got most things wrong from ticket prices to manager and player recruitment.
He’s now a ** and worse than the Oystons.

I’m pissed off with this season but ffs let’s have some balance
Great post👍

Exactly this. 👆
Not much balance on here at the moment. Just this O/P makes me so angry but there you have it. I can't be arsed to engage. I trust Simon Sadler and life goes on and there will be happier times ahead. No need for all the abuse and toxicity.

You've balanced up the argument yourself Chunky. All the good that Sadler had done has been negated with the terrible decisions that he has made this season. Can you think of one good decision that he has made this season ?

I can’t bud, I really can’t.

I think it’s been an absolute shocker of a season on and off the pitch.

We. wouldn't have got rid of the vermin without him and we wouldn't have got in the PL without him. WTF has money laundering got to do with it? And how did he get back in bed with the vermin when they were suing supporters, I don't remember it like that.

Sadler is accountable now the past is the past, we learn from it, but Sadler isn't this ** super hero some want to portray him as.
You wouldn’t remember it, because the truth of the matter is distorted and selective memory kicks in.

Offers were made (after fans had been sued) to get together. have a discussion and see if they couldn’t sort things out and shake hands to continue as was.

SS is obviously accountable for the ups and downs that the Club experiences now he owns it.

I don’t think he needs to be a Super Hero, but he has already implemented a lot of positive changes and that will no doubt continue. As many of us have said, as long as he’s doing the best that he can and trying to improve the club, then that’s as much as we can expect.

Losing is disappointing and relegation is especially disappointing. Clearly questions need to be asked and the board needs to address them and regain the confidence of the supporters.
