The one thing I remember about Appleton at Lincoln, especially in the first two matches against them in L1, was that Lincoln always made adjustments and looked better during the 2nd half of matches.

Looks like his confidence has been completely shot, had two great chances for headers and wiffed them both then was played in on goal and just froze.

Maybe Critchley's system suited him better because he didn't need to be on the ball as much?

Only useful if he gets the ball on the counter, in normal play, when he's facing someone 1v1, all he does is turn his back to pass it back, slows everything down.
