With temperatures again due to fall below freezing tonight ( same as the majority of this week), and the daytime temperature only 2 to 3’c for today and tomorrow, I hope the pitch has been protected with covers, since Tuesday nights game.
Our back garden has been like concrete most of this week….not much of a comparison but it gives an indication that there is not much warmth in the air to help with any thawing.

Snow and frost in Shipley yesterday which didn't clear, sharp frost again last night. Current temp -1 feels like -5. Forecast maximum 3.

Temperature -5c at Blackpool airport last night. Reckon it will be touch and go.

With conditions set to be worse overnight with not much sun tomorrow would it not be prudent to have a pitch inspection at 2/3 today, and if it's frozen then it's going to be no better tomorrow. If it's OK then crack on and hope it's still playable.

At least FGR and fans could plan a bit better.
They aren't set to be worse.

The covers 'should' be able to protect against that. Ok it only rises to 2 degrees the next day a few hours before KO.

All depends if its already frozen frok the past nights.

That's what I mean. If it's frozen today at X time, then the temp won't rise enough to thaw it out. If it's OK today then it looks like GAME ON!

Makes sense to do that and if any doubt call in a local ref.

Yeah today after giving it time at 2 degrees if it's OK then go ahead.

Well, it had better be on, FGR are on their way here.

Both tonight’s FA cup games are still shown as being on but tomorrow I reckon more than half will be postponed.
With them being on TV its worth their while spending decent money on the right heaters etc. Possibly with the TV Co's chipping in. They won't be using the groundman's old jumpers for this one.

So, if you have snow where you are you can entertain yourself tomorrow afternoon by building a football team of snowmen in place of the real thing.⛄❄️
