Saturday's Starting XI??

My starting XI for Saturday for what it's worth:

Maxwell
Turton Big Marv Husband Mitchell
Williams
CJ Robson Garbutt
Anderson
Yates

Husband has to replace Nottingham, comfortable on the ball, can bring it out from the back and provide a better link to the midfield with better passing ability.

Williams will give the back four more protection when the full backs go forward and Anderson is pushed further forward to support Yates more who is becoming more isolated.

Whilst Ward did well against Swindon, he was anonymous last weekend so IMO is to miss out.

I think Kurt has nailed it. 👍

Madine played well when he came on and could provide the hold-up play that Yates can feed off. I don't know, however, whether Madine's fit enough to last the full 90 minutes -- Critch will know!

I'd also like to see Dan Kemp come on at 60 minutes whether we're winning or not. He's got the ability to stir things up in their penalty area, and deserves more time on the pitch..

Same as Kurt, apart from Garbutt in at left back. UTP.
 
On the basis that I think Critchley will stick with Yates in the middle:

I don't think there'll be wholesale changes, but he subbed Lubala against the Gills, suggesting it's a bit too soon for him. I think Turton will start over Gabriel as he's only joined today and he'll probably come on at some point in the 2nd half. Then the other change is Husband who I think is a bit calmer and a bit more experienced. Difficult to weight up who he'll replace tbh.

Edit to add, that leaves:

Madine

That is a strong bench for league 1. Plenty of competition there.

Definitely wouldn't start with Lubala - think we just need a bit more 'about us' and not sure at the moment he offers that.
 
I think this nearly our strongest starting 11. The only player I’m unsure of is Lubala.

Anyone know why we’ve only named 6 subs?
 
Freezing Nottingham out completely surprises me. Another bit of novice professional man management I think.
