Scousers unhappy again

Complaining that the prices at Anfield are going up by all of 2%, and supporters' groups weren't consulted. In protest they're leaving their flags at home tonight and only waving the Hillsborough memorial ones at the weekend.

Now I'm well aware that LFC could let people in for nowt and it wouldn't make a heap of difference to their finances whilst they keep making it this far in the Champions League, but their fans need to realise that isn't the American way and if there's a cash cow it needs milking.

There are two options in the EPL, you either fully buy in to the touristification (horrible word but trending) of the game and finish in the top half with a chance of European competition, or be a club that cares about the local community and struggle to stay up.

The Liverpool supporters organisations want it both ways, they clearly don't get it.

It’s why most people can’t stand them. They think they’re better than everyone, they think their club means more than other people’s, they think their City is a republic.

Don`t understand what the O/P is wanging on about. Surely supporters showing concern for price increases at any level of football is a good thing? I`m all for supporters reminding the powers that be that they shouldn`t be taken for granted. Worked well in Germany.

Also you don`t have to be relegation fodder to be "a club that cares about the local community" - Liverpool and Man City (to name but two) are very active in that area, as I imagine many others are in the Prem and other divisions.

By the way, Liverpool aren`t playing tonight, and they aren`t in the Champions League, but apart from that...

It wouldn't be a good look for them if they didn't 'care' wouldn't it? Dripping with wealth.

Some of what they say is pretty much true though
Hillsborough wasn’t the fans’ fault
That’s of course unless you’re one of those low life’s who think it’s fine to sing murderers at Liverpool fans
The supporters are very passionate and do give great support to the team
And the club is the most successful English club ever in terms of winning major trophies
That aside what’s wrong with supporters keeping club owners on their toes?

They're not in the champions league 🤔

Not to be devil’s advocate but 2% is way below rate of inflation
I don't get it either 2% on a grand is £20 2k £40 hardly a Kings ransom.

Haven't a clue what their ST is but probably they pay too much already, well tough shit you should have complained years ago not when it goes up a poxy £20.

Scousers don't work so any rise is too much

Not going there with that poor gag before we start stereotyping.

I actually know a Liverpool ST holder he told me five years ago what he paid and it was over 800 then,God knows what it is now.

£16 on top of that is fuck all but then again over £40 a PL match is obscene.

Is that having a pop at LFC fans or the folk from Liverpool area.
If the latter then it is uncalled for and nothing short of racial abuse.

Don’t we have fans on here every pre-season complaining at the cost of season tickets.

They think it's a republic because it was pretty much abandoned and left to rot by the Thatcher government, more places should adopt this attitude instead of kowtowing to Westminster.

They hadn't lost at home for a very long while but its tough at the top, this will really hurt them. The two Man Utd games have really taken it out of them. Pretty special for Atalanta and you could see what it meant to them. Fair play to them.

Utd fucked their minds

Some bottom dwelling morons on this thread. The 2% rise isn't the issue. The issue is the price was/is already far too high. The difference to the club is round 500k per season, about a week and half of Mo Salah's wages. Negligible to the club, unnecessarily jarring to the fans, and it backfired massively last night. Anyone on here claiming to be from Blackpool or claiming to be a Blackpool fan trotting out jobless shouts are living in a separate reality. Then again this town chose to vote Scott Benton in as it's representative.

With the vast majority of any clubs income going on greedy players wage demands and a small number of other obscene demands from agents and maybe even management why don’t the fans target there disgust at these people? If it wasn’t for a ridiculous wage bill maybe tickets could be a bit cheaper 🤬💶😂

The football club no longer fits in with its local area. Paying individual players £350,000 a week when houses near the ground cost less than £70,000 shows the true scale of the disconnect.

I agree. So why treat the local fans with such contempt? You either pay the wages or you don't keep the top players. There are VIP tickets at Anfield for up £1200. This argument that costs are increasing, so the fans must bare the cost, when TV money is at such an obscene level doesn't stand up to scrutiny. They'll gain half a million a year at the cost of killing the atmosphere, good move!

Blackpool fans are Always in about how poor the town is and low wages, unemployment etc etc. need tix prices to stay the same etc.
I’m no big fan of scousers or critch btw but these sort of posts are just needless excuses to bash either.
